theguru Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Congrats Neico! Many walk ons have no chance of seeing the field, Teipel has a shot to start someday.
Clyde Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Good for this kid. I could see him playing one of many positions. LB, safety, TE (see Ben Guidugli), or running back.
Eta Rho Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Good for this kid. I could see him playing one of many positions. LB, safety, TE (see Ben Guidugli), or running back. Teipel would have to get MUCH bigger to play TE. BG has been that big since high school. Congrats to Neico though. He is a very good player and UC is getting a good one. I could definetly see him playing in the defensive backfield or backfield.

I'd guess Teipel to be as tall as Ben is right now. He's got the frame and I'll assume UC can bulk him up. UC doesn't appear to use Ben as the traditional TE. They like to put him out a bit and let him be another quasi-wideout. I can see Teipel doing that.
gametime Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 UC has one of the best S&C programs in the country, so bulking him up isn't an issue. Very nice addition...

cooperstown Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Did he receive any scholarshp offers or was he just more interested in staying local?
gametime Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Where do you think he fits in best? Hard to tell untill he gets on the practice field. His has a big enough frame that I can see him helping at several spots going in...
Coachg13207 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Congrats Neico. We wish you all the best.
Voice of Reason Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Did he receive any scholarshp offers or was he just more interested in staying local? I think it was all about D1 for Neico. He wants to play D1 ball. I am sure if he had an offer form a D1 school he would have taken it. I see Teipel playing defensive back or linebacker. Congrats and best wishes to Neico Teipel.
