There is no bar. If anything goes wrong during his administration, it will be blamed on the Bush Administration or on obstructionist conservatives. Since the media is, with few exceptions, worshipping at his alter, nothing negative concerning him will be reported (Need an example? Finally, those who oppose him will, as was the case during the campaign, be branded as racists.

I think he was referring to the video Hearsay posted a link to. It is a song buy the band Living Colour. It is a great song but was definitely written well before Obama was ever heard of.

A number of people were so caught up with Bush they would tell me ridiculous things like "Thank God for sending us George W. Bush," as well as other, more hyperbole-filled statements. It only lasted a couple years, but it was indeed there. Not that the hyperbole around Obama isn't sickening and over-the-top, because it is.

 

I don't recall anyone thanking God for Bush other than in regard to him being a better choice for traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs than was Gore or Kerry.

 

On the other hand, we have all heard Obama referred to as being something divine- some even equating him to God.

Some girls at work were talking about how Mrs. Obama is supposed to be on the cover of a magazine, Vogue I think and how she's only the second first lady ever to be on there. Then they started talking about news paper clippings they've cut out, and about magazines that they've now bought as collectors items. One of them has a young daughter 3 or 4. She was bragging about how her "boo" new who President Obama was and how everyone should know who he is because he's the most important man in America ever. I just kept quiet and laughed to myself. It definitely reinforced my beliefs though that people really do worship President Obama.

Not just the administration but the Republican controlled Congress too. Conservatives aren't conservative at least fiscally anymore, but they sure act like it come election time and have about this stimulus bill. So if being excited and hopeful about someone who says they will try to change things is cult like, then what is continuing to support people who say they stand for something and then do the opposite??:confused:
