Elliott County 86 Mason County 71

Featured Replies

Holmes losses are to Bryan Station by 14 on a neutral court, and Boone County by 8 on BC home floor. Holmes did beat Bryan Station by 18 on BS home floor in the rematch though.

Not trying to prove a point or anything, but just informing you on Holmes losses since you had them losing to an out of state team. The only out of state team they played was Largo, MD and they beat them.

One question. Scott County handled Bryan Station twice, does that mean Scott County can beat Holmes??

I know they have already played, but that was early and every one has an opinion on the first couple of games. What would happen now?

Thanks Ram!!

No problem, glad to help my friends from Sandy Hook

Getting back to the game. It was great to see the boys play like they should and are expected too. The guard play was phenomenal and Elliott controlled and made Mason play the way Elliott wanted them to. Last night something happened that happens to a lot of Elliott opponents; they just wore them down and were all over the place. When Elliott plays with heart and their will to win was outstanding like it was; they cannot be beat. Everything falls into place when they are hustling like they did last night and this team has to understand that they can win 99% of the games they play by just flat out keeping the opponent’s head spinning so fast that they do things they don’t' want to. People say well Elliott can be controlled when you slow the play down, but you haven't seen Elliott play defense if you think that. You have too and are forced to do something when you have Tasmanian devils all around you. The only team or player that I have seen take Elliott out of their game by controlling the tempo is the Justice kid from Shelby Valley(which is a very underrated team IMO); know we know what to expect from that and will see different result if we face them again. Overall it was a great win and Mason will be a great team for years to come. It was a great win and a good feeling but can’t bake in the moment to long because this battle was nothing compared to the one’s to come.

Guard play for Elliott is always phenomental. I love it, a great team from a small school.:taz:

It sure was nice to be able watch live on channel 3.2 wsaz. Way to hang tough Lions.

Its statements like this that make a lot of people not like Elliott Co.

Don't get too cocky. Ballard is coming to town. Thats a different animal than Mason Co. I am not saying they are that much better than Mason, but they are different. They will want to run with Elliott Co. It should be an excellent game.

And I would suppose that it didn't take any of these ingredients for you to cheer on your team this year; I believe that you did win a state title and should know all too well what I am saying. Not being cocky, but it is a good trait to have when you are in contention for a state title. Sorry that you feel this way towards Elliott because you of all people being from the mountains should know that we are a different breed that must build success through hard work. It is amazing what hustle and determination can compel you to do. Ballard is a very good team that can contest with the Lions no doubt and it will be a huge test for the Lions. :ohbrother: Lions better have their A game together and be ready for Ballard; being it is the last time these boys will play on their home court.:thumb:

Ballard is better than Mason and will come after Elliott in waves, but where Ballard can wear most teams down, they can't wear Elliott down, they will need to get Elliott in foul trouble to have a shot at winning, otherwise, they will not

"outrun" Elliott, that strategy will fail, but that is the only strategy Ballard has

which will probally be their downfall.

Spelling of Elliott

Nice win for Elliott but I think we all must remember that Royals are not the same Mason County Royals this year as years before! Although still a very talented team!

Those two and Ferguson are a handful. Its almost impossible to stop all 3 of them, or even 2 of them for that matter.

Whew let me start by saying congrats to the Lions you just simply played harder than Mason in the 2nd half.Went down hill for the Royals when they went to the small lineup all at once for a while. We have to get some type of road built though my goodness that drive will make you sick its so curvy and hilly,I respect those folks out there but no way would i drive that everyday.Royals lets get it together and come out strong Friday night against Harrison.Elliott i hope to see you again in Rupp which i am sure you will get there,Goodluck on the rest of your season.

Bring on the stimulus money!!!! You are talkin my kinda language. Call in Rocky Adkins, I'm sure he'd be for a little road construction in EC.

Cograts to the Elliott boys. This is not a surprise to me. Looks like the "F" Troop came strong!!!! I'll bet the crowd was rockin.

:notworthy:Congrats to Elliott County :popcorn:nice win.:notworthy::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::taz::dancingpa:clap::clap::clap::clap:
