February 10, 200917 yr Yes he caused this dislike. He only can go up now that he destroyed in two years what it took Howard, John L, and Bobby to build. CoachB, you may be right. BUT, it he DOES turn it around, I will expect you to be dining on a healthy serving of
February 10, 200917 yr I think it shows what Krag is made of, he's feeling the pressure so he disposes of those around him to buy time (Fulmer/Tuberville ring a bell) and give the administration hope that changes are coming. I personally don't respect that, I think if you believed in someone enough to give them the job then you need to believe in them long enough to prove their self. For all the people that defend Krag I have a question for you, at first Krag got a pass because of the player problems he supposedly inherited, now you give him a pass because the DC, OC and whoever else weren't getting it done at what point does Krag get the blame or will next years excuse be it was hot in August and cold in December?
February 10, 200917 yr I am truly an outsider on this one, but here is my view from afar. Coach Kragthorpe came to Louisville under what I view as a difficult situation. That is, because the previous staff had so much success, Coach Kragthorpe was not able to hire his own staff. Now what coach takes over one of the top programs and is unable to hire his own assistant coaches to implement his own system? Tom Jurich told Coach Kragthorpe who would be on his staff. Like it or not as a fan, no other coach I can recall in recent memory was not able to hire the assistant coaches he wanted. It sounds like Jurich is now allowing Louisville's coach to bring in Kragthorpe assistants.......not the ones he was told would be staying when he came. Tennessee let Lane Kiffin hire all new assistants. Michigan let Rich Rodriguez hire his assistants. Rich Brooks brought in his own assistant coaches at Kentucky, etc. etc. etc. Sounds like Coach Kragthorpe is finally allowed to have his own staff.
February 10, 200917 yr But, that doesn't answer my question. If Coack K is successful going forward, will he still be hated for the 2 seasons when everything was in turmoil? The only question I have is who goes first Gillispie or Kragthorpe? You don't fire a guy whose jersey hangs in your stadium!!!!! Talk about bad karma. You don't change the plays your offensive coordinator calls as often as Kragthorpe did and then let him take the blame for the dismal offense. DO YOU REALLY THINK BROHM WOULD CALL A DIVE PLAY ON FOURTH AND 4? I expect Coach K to last two more seasons and his contract will not be renewed.(Long enough for his son to earn a couple of more rings at Rock Heaven) If Jurich has that much faith in him, let's see him get a contract extension through the money folks at U of L this week! Also, I feel this may well be Jurich's Waterloo and lead to his exit from the U of L landscape forever. Can Kragthopre become the next Rich Brooks rags to riches story? Tune in next fall, same Bat time, same Bat channel.
February 10, 200917 yr Cards win their first 4 games this season and guess what? :jump: They go 4-8?
February 10, 200917 yr From what I understand the probelm with the offense was Coach Krap over ruling what the OC was calling. Not allowing the OC to get into a rythem. Then when things went bad he would put it back on the OC. Bottom line when the keys of the program were given to the Coach all he had to do was give it a tune up. Instead he decides to over haul a smooth running machine. It's time to find a new driver instead of constant changing of the parts. Now you are questioning the character of Coach Kragthorpe, and that is un-acceptable. The Brohm family isn't happy about what has happened, but they understand and are in full support of the Louisville football program. Coach Kragthorpe realized, that the buck must now stop with him. Fail this year, and many of you get your wish, he's gone. Strive, and you all will hate to admit that he can do it. Either way, it's in the best interest of the University of Louisville football program.
February 10, 200917 yr Yes he caused this dislike. He only can go up now that he destroyed in two years what it took Howard, John L, and Bobby to build. I have truly respected your football knowledge and savvy in regards to the running of a program, until now. The above comment makes me question my previous assesment.
February 10, 200917 yr They go 4-8? Probably but they won't win the UK game. So 3-9. :thumb:

February 10, 200917 yr He has the right to put in people that he sees fit. At Bama no one stayed when Coach Saban arrived...he cleaned the house. Coach K should have done the same thing and he is getting beat up by some of you. He was too nice and it hurt him. He wanted to call the plays in the first year and didn't. Coach B, are you a real coach? I'd think if you are/were you would understand my point more than anyone.
February 10, 200917 yr Coach K should have done the same thing and he is getting beat up by some of you. He was too nice and it hurt him. This is the biggest mistake Jurich has ever made....he forced Kragthorpe's hand in keeping staff, and the program has paid since then...Jurich has since admitted said mistake, and hopefully the program digs out OK.
February 10, 200917 yr This is old news, Brohm will likely end up at FAU...just a hunch. KragCooper was already taking playcalling duties away from him after UK game. Why was he pushed out? He has no younger brothers coming through the system.:sssh:
