Best Burger in NKY/Cincy area

Featured Replies

A group of us are going out every Saturday to a different burger place on a quest to see who has the best burger in the area. So far, contenders have been Zollas, Herb and Thelmas, and the favorite so far Terri's Turf Club on Eastern Ave in Cincinnati. That place was really fun and the burger was awesome!

Anyone have any suggestions for future Saturdays?

I always hear the burger at Zollas is great. I have been there but never had the burger. Are those all the places you have been and how many are you planning on going to?

We have just started our quest. Of course we have had burgers in our immediate area over the years, but want to branch out. We have no set time frame for how long we will be. It is just for fun.

Zollas was very good, but doesnt compare to the Turf Club burgers we had. Their burgers were very big with a large variety of toppings available, including sauces to be served over them if you choose. The place is small, crowded with a lot of old neon lights hanging around. They also have some of the old neon from Coney Island (If you are old enough to remember those days!) A lot of character in that place!

If you can ever make it to LaRue County, Laha's in Hodgenville is amazing.

I would usually post Detroit Joe's in Newport, however, I have a new favorite. I had a great burger at Longnecks in Wilder.

I always loved Fuddrucker's in the Turfway area, but that's been closed down for a while now. Great burger though and I loved how you could put your own toppings & condiments on. A little pricy, but most of the time I wasn't buying so who cares, right?

Bar Louie has some pretty solid burgers down on the Levee. And if you can make it out on a Wednesday night, I think they're $1. That's a great deal.

Willie Anderson has a place around here somewhere that is supposed to have great burgers. Fat something...never been there, but I want to go.

There was a place in Olive Hill that had good burgers that some buddies of mine used to go get.

In Olive Hill, it might have been Smokey Valley Truck Stop or James' Drive In, not for sure if James' is open anymore? In West Liberty, the best burgers and fish sandwiches come from McKenzie's Pool Room!

Have not yet been to Longnecks or Detroit Joe's. Will have to put them on the list.

Where is Olive Hill?

Carter County

Longnecks, Detroit Joe's and Fat Burger are all fantastic...

Zip's in Mt. Lookout has many great burgers. I suggest the Girth Burger. It has a split Mett on top. So good!!

I heard about Fat Burger opening, but have not heard anything since, how is it?
