That's a big win for NCC :thumb:

Wasn't the dancing and jumping taking place after the varsity game? How is this classless? Coaches are not allowed to get excited? I hear a little bitterness in your post because the varsity lost...isn't the JV about development for varsity? Sounds as if a good play call by Coach Brannen won the game and Coach Pangallo was excited, as he should be, about the victory over a rival Class A School. Classless and Coach Pangallo do not go hand and hand. This is a man that reaches out to all kids and is a great motivator. Congrats to NCC on a great win.

I agree, Jimmy is a great guy who really cares about those kids and works with them after hours. He is one of the key folks up on the hill who aids in the development of those players. I have seen Jimmy in the papers picking kids up and being jubilant and there is nothing wrong with that at all.

Im sure the loss doesnt sit well with teh Stang fans and I can see where initially they may take that as ridiculous but I honestly dont see anything wrong with a coach getting excited for his kids. Now if the coach shows up the other team or their fans like what you saw happen in last year's 10th Region tourney thats another thing.

I have a lot of respect for both programs. Coach Code is one of the finest in the 10th Region and he gets more out of his players than any other coach IMHO. I would have liked to have been able to see this game as it sounds like it was a barn burner. In the end it is just a game but in the heat of the moment you gotta be able to get excited when you win a competetive event.

Sounds like a classic High School BB game that all would enjoy to watch! The rivalry between these schools has become one of the best around and you expect it to come down to the wire.Congrats to both teams for putting quality kids and coaching staffs on the court year after year!!

NOBODY can say anything bad about coach Jimmy P.... it is in the blood.Do you recall a great coach by the name Jimmy V.......

Noticed this same behavior at the All A finals. He did this once during a timeout during the second quarter run NCC went on. At first I thought this was the worst kind of sportsmanship I had ever seen. He then did it after the game, again same thoughts, poor sportsmanship. But during the postgame hand shakes he was hugging and congratulating each Newport player. He showed a genuine act of respect for Newports tough loss. That was a sign of a true great ambassador for not only the sport, but also the 'Breds as well. Good luck Coach Pangallo, may your enthusiasm keep you young forever.

I agree 100%. Well said.

Big rivalry game. Nice win for the Breds. This game is always a hard fought battle to the bitter end. Nice call by Coach Brannen. As for Coach Pangallo, I think MACLA hit the nail on the head. Jimmy has a passion for his alma mater, his son and the NewCath basketball program. He was celebrating a huge win against a big rival. He was very complimentary after the game talking about Brossart, their coaches and how hard they play. It would have been classless if he were yelling at the Brossart fans, players or coaches. He was not! If you watch the tape he hugged as many Brossart players as he did NewCath. He just loves the game and the kids!

Coach P- dont ever lose your enthusiam for the Breds, the game of basketball and more importantly the kids. Your players love you and that's what matters most.

Congrats to both teams on a well played, hard fought game.

I've known Jimmy for a long time. He is a good guy that wants to be beat Brossart in the worst way. Nothing wrong with that. I certainly enjoy it when we beat NC. This is a great rivalry and if you missed Saturday's edition you missed a good one. Good luck to both squads for the remainder of the season.

I do not agree with a slam on coach Pangallo. I am a Brossart fan and an NCC grad. I have been around basketball for 30 years and no one is a more passionate ambassador for the game of basketball that Jimmy Pangallo.

I know he roots for the Brossart kids and program evey day except on the NCC vs. Brossart game night.[/QUOTE]

That might be a bit of a stretch! :D

You are probably right, but I do like the guy!

He has always been supportive of all of my players.

Congrats to both teams, very entertaining game. It's the first time I've seen Rieger play this year. He's a really nice player, good size and quickness and not a bad shooter from 3. Looks like he'll be playing at the next level.

The posts about Jimmy Pangallo are just unbelievable. Jimmy cares more about kids than any other person I have ever met. Sure he gets excited, but that's called passion. If you can't like Jimmy then you can't like many people, most people love him.

Heck, Jimmy hugs me every time that he sees me and we're only good acquaintances. The guy is an incredible guy to be around. I'll take him jumping around after the game any day. ANY kid would be lucky to have a coach that cares as much about them as individuals as Jimmy does. Dance on brother.

He is always asking about my kids, what there up to. He is just a great guy to be around and for our kids to have as a role model. Just like his Dad!!!:thumb:

I was not able to attend the BBHS/NCC game but I've known coach Pangallo for years. He is a class act. He shows his class during the game as well as after the games. I'm not doubting he was excited for his boys. As a NC grad, I did not send my children to NCC and he was supportive of my decision. I actually just ran into him yesterday and he was asking about my children and wishing them the best of luck!
