How did the 7 on 7 with Rowan County and Lawerence County go. I have not seen anything on it.

 

I don't know either. I guess when I went on vacation I was tossed out of the loop! I do know that the coaches are happy with the overall team speed and work in the weight room. I think we are faster than we were last year. We absolutely have more depth than last year. I think we will have to wait until pads to see how physical we play. If we play physical, we should have a great year.

Driving a Trans-Am, listening to RATT, wearing parachute pants and sporting a bodacious mullett. I think he was last seen cruising the Taco Bell parking lot. I think he was waiting for Red Devil 27 to get off work so they could cruise Ironton..........:idunno::lol:

Doc has covered it. I don't know what the scores were, but I am sure the coaching staff is working on different combinations and see what will work come August. Like Doc said, we have a good amount of depth at most positions, I would say Raceland is still in the "What combination works best" phase of the pre-season.

I don't think there are any clear cut starters until August. With depth comes great competition and with great competition comes great off season work and with that hopefully comes success on the field. That being said, I agree that many combinations and many different schemes are being tried this Spring to see what fits this group of boys and best fits their talent/skills. They have to figure out what gives our boys the best chance to produce on the field so that we can be successful.

:thumb: I agree, This team is not going to have the talent + experience that last years squad had but imo some people are going to be suprised.

Last years team were blowing out alot of opponets and that gave the younger/JV & freshman team kids (this seasons starters) some very valuble playing time (some games the entire 2nd half if not more).

 

This years edition of Ram Football will have talent, we will just hae to see how well they come together and play "Raceland Ram Football".....should they buy into the same "TEAM" concept like the 08' team then we will be o.k..

Congrats to Rodney Salyers for winning the Board competition at Down and Dirty for the best lineman! With all the schools competing, we should all be very proud of our 1A lineman!!!!!!!:thumb:

I remember cruising the Bluegrass in the early and mid 70's (when it was actually crowded) on Friday and Saturday nights. There was the usual traffic jam between the Bluegrass and the Winchester ave. McDonalds. As high school kids usually short on cash, one common practice was to get your food and McDonalds then go to the Bluegrass to park and eat it. We would order a coke or something from the Blugrass to keep from getting kicked out of the lot,lol. When the rare occasion came up that we had extra, there was noithing likea "flying saucer", "rings" and "strawberry pie" from the Bluegrass.

 

Ahhh, back in the day :lol: I wish the Bluegrass was still there, that was a true piece of "Americana" and alot of our youth.
