The coaches at Raceland said that it would be too expensive to get started on a wrestling team. Also, one of the other winter sports coach (who is a really good friend of mine) said he would fight it because it would hurt his numbers. I guess it is a pitfall of a small school.

Speaking of numbers, I believe the middle school team is going to somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 players! It is possible to have a Freshman class of 30 in the fall of 2010. What a huge success this shows for the Raceland JFL feeder program!!!!!!!:dancingpa

Next year's eight grade will have around 22-25, next years seventh grade class will have around 25-28. All the classes below the seventh grade have very good numbers as well.

 

The JFL is going to pay off ten fold.

Yep we are having to buy all new uniforms, because we only had something like 40, and we expect 50-60 players this year. Great problem to have.

That's too bad for Raceland. It's a great winter sport - and excelent conditioning.
