Not at all, Raceland is just playing catch up with Ashland, you know they return the entire backfield, and will have one game of experience this season on Raceland. I just don't know if Raceland will be able to catch up in time. Raceland is going to have to work double hard if they want to even keep it close against Ashland.

Sidelinedoc, how did the Speed Training go? Did you see any improvement from that course?

 

There were a few lineman that went through it. The skill guys and some more lineman will go through it through it after school dismisses for the summer.

All schools and players are working hard in the offseason. It's a rule not the exception anymore. Raceland will have a fine football team this season like always, they have tradition and great fans. Hopefully teams can compete with them this season, they will have a tough time defeating Ashland 4 years in a row, but should compete with everybody else on the schedule. Good luck to Raceland and all the other area schools, I can't wait till August.

All good points. The only thing that has been seperating the local teams is not the hard off season workouts, it is the above and beyond work that is done by the kids on their own. The F.A.S.T program is an example of additional agility and conditioning drills that help with speed, quickness and endurance that allows a 1A school to compete with larger schools. It just takes having someone either in the program or around the program to organize the boys to complete in these types of things.
