There were many bad calls and no calls on both sides. All year they have been calling fouls on people who put their arms down and not straight up even if a player jumps into their arms. Everyone has seen this call be made, when an offensive player jumps into a defender's arms and a foul be called on the defender. You see it on every level. You have to be willing to adjust on how they are calling the game.

Maddox fouled out in OT but should have fouled out much earlier because one of his early fouls was given to Davis who was not even near the player who got fouled.

Owen played a zone, which usually takes away most of the fouls. Maddox and Jones both just lowered their head and jumped into Owen defenders and got fouls called. Gamble and Colligan both fouled out in regualtion. I just don't understand why Maddox gets so many calls...but I guess Jones get so many because Daddy is sitting over there on the bench.

As far as your last sentence goes, is it really necessary to ridicule a 16-17 year old kid ? :cry:

Jones is a very good player. The only thing that has to do with his dad is that his dad is a great coach that has taught MANY talented players over the years. I doubt any official even thinks about this when they make calls.

I was not ridiculing Jones. I was questioning the referees' judgement and how Jon Jones has all the refs in the 8th region in his back pocket. I agree that Jones is a good player.

How are the teams going to be seeded since they are all 3-3? Will there be a tie-break of some kind?

No offense to Gallatin County, they always play so hard, but how in the world do they beat Owen? Owen starts 6-7, 6-5, and has another 6-6 off the bench. From what I've seen from Gallatin, the only height they have is Maddox. Can someone tell me how they matched up with Owen? I must be missing something. Congrats on the win GC!

Bible stories relate to all sports and life, but that is for another thread. And, it is very in depth. The bigger team does not always win.

 

Since you'er not into Bible stories: have you heard the story about the Tortoise and Hare, or the Squirrel and Grasshopper. The Hare was much faster but the Tortoise won, the Grasshopper ate less, but starved to death.

 

I know nothing about the game, just making a comparison.
