Jones is a very good coach but he does know how to work the refs. He starts at the beginning of the game and it continues until the last buzzer goes off. Everyone knows this throughout the entire region, all you have to do is watch one of their games. That has to be part of his game plan. Too bad, the refs fall for it on a regular basis.

 

Maddox and Z. Jones are good, smart players with a higher basketball IQ than most of their opponents. The comment about Zac and his daddy on the bench was just dumb. He's a very hard nosed player who knows how to "draw the foul". Congrats GC on the win. It was an exciting game to watch.

I heard alot of comments from the Owen crowd and I thought they knew more about the game in general than it showed.

You can have all the size in the world and if you don't play hard, play together and have a good coach you will lose more then you win!!

I was not ridiculing Jones. I was questioning the referees' judgement and how Jon Jones has all the refs in the 8th region in his back pocket. I agree that Jones is a good player.

 

Evidently not all in his hip pocket (I won't mention name) or they would have been playing in Rupp Arena last March.

Congrats to Gallatin Co. Sounds like a good game to watch!

Maddox also fouled out in this game and Jones finished with four. I agree there were some crazy calls made, but if Owen hits free throws down the stretch and doesn't foul Maddox (a legit call) with a 4 point lead with 12 seconds left they win anyway.

 

Jones had 4 fouls 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter and was gaurding Shelton. There is no way Jones didnt have 1 foul in 15 minutes trying to gaurd someone 7 inches taller than him. Jones is an excellent player but when he drives the lane he is initiating the contact therefore NO foul should be called against Owen if they are straight up.

You should keep in mind that Owen tends to play a little soft sometimes.

Looked like Owen played well together to me. That takes good coaching. Owen had already beat GC this year, Gallatin just played a great game.
