The 96 and 04 games were heart-breaking losses for Bell Co. The 2004 games really stings because Bell IMO played better defense (as far as not letting Highlands move the football) and offense(as far as being able to move the football much better than Highlands), but 2 fumbles were the difference in the ball game. And Highlands deserved to win as well.

 

Always great games played when these two teams meet. I wish Highlands and Bell could play in regular season. Bell always gives Highlands all they can handle.

Great game... I remember exacty where I was sitting and whom I was sitting with during that game... couldn't look once the ball left Chuke's tee. I do recall Chuke being sick and really not having such a terrific season... The dad, Elvis, was a real treat to sit near during the games. :scared:

 

That game and the '04 game will be tops in my book! This year's Bryan Station contest will be right up there with the Bell County games.

 

So, why is Dudley scared to play HHS? Once we get back into the same classification he will not have a choice!

Elvis missed that game for a performance. If he would have been there who knows what might have happened.

illegal is a strong word.

 

The ultimate determination in the courts was that Highlands was in the right to play him. Also, there is further legal proceedings that will be filed to have the wins that Highlands had earned on the field in 2004 restored based on the courts findings that Highlands was within its right to play the player in question.

 

How about the fact that the kid was denied his lawful right to play in a state championship game by a court system that determined after that fact he had a right to?

 

 

That ought to give someone a case of indigestion. A well earned case. I'm glad to see that something is being done to set the record straight, although what Mike lost can never be restored.
