Congratulations to South on a nice 4th quarter comeback.

No offense to the Corbin faithful, but perhaps we can put the lamenting over the lowly 9th place on the BGP rankings away for awhile.

Congratulations to SL on the win.

I still think that Corbin is without a doubt one of the top 6 or 7 teams in the state. This is a good win for South Laurel and I would have been lying if I said I didn't expect this. This rivalry is one where you can throw out the records. No loss is a good loss but hopefully it'll re-focus Corbin. They have a tough game tomorrow against North Laurel on account of this game tonight being rescheduled to tonight. I wouldn't rule out another upset by the Jags. Hopefully Corbin will bounce back and go on a tear.

Wow! I didn't expect this, but I'm not completely surprised by it!

Good win for South. This doesn't mean Corbin isn't the team to beat, though.

Great job South Laurel!:ylsuper:

Congratulations to South Laurel on a well executed game plan. Corbin just had an off night shooting from the outside and that was their main achilles in addition to the good defense of SL.

Congratulations to Corbin's Coach West and his JV team on defeating SL by 15 prior to the Varsity game.

Congrats to South Laurel. Corbin will be just fine and to respond to spindoc, Corbin is still a top 10 team. Try coming down and watching them sometime. Like Hank said, you can throw out the records in this rivalry.

South was ranked in the top five a couple of years back and needed a last-second shot to beat Corbin in the region finals.

Sometimes a loss can re-focus a team, but seeing the reaction of some of the Corbin staff and players, I would wonder. Sometimes a loss like this can be a back breaker too.

I think Corbin has the dominate talant in the region, but losses early season to Knox Central and now to South Laurel shows some chinks in the armour, if not making suspect to big game pressures.

It's true that I haven't seen them this season, hope to see them in the sweet 16. But Les, you must admit, you've more than shown your displeasure with Corbin's rank. I think westsider made a good case as to why they're ranked where they were. And you may be right, they may be top 10, especially when it's all said and done. Good luck to them.

Yep, you're right, I have shown a lot of displeasure and to be honest, even after the loss, they are still a top 10 team in my opinion. I just don't believe some teams and players in this area gets the credit they deserve. Come down and watch the rivalry between Corbin and South and you'll see that there is quality basketball in this area, too.

I don't doubt that for one second.

Congrats to SL. Nice win. We'll see how the Hounds respond. Personally, I think it will benefit Corbin in the long-run. I would hate to face SL in the region after a 20-25 game win streak. SL will also prosper from this. They knew they could beat Corbin on a given night and now so does everyone else.

The district and region is gonna be a lot of fun.
