Nice win for MC

Good win for the Royals, but the FT's will come back to haunt them. Tremendous defensive effort, held Henry Clay to 31% shooting.

Another very nice road win for the Royals,They continue to impress.Treg Setty playing like a man last 3 games avg 21.5 and 10.8 boards nice from the young Soph.Henry Clay had just knocked off two top 15 teams in Bryan Station and Dunbar.Up next for Mason is Fleming County Tuesday at the Fieldhouse.

Good road win for the Royals. Glad to see Setty doing well. How did Pawsat do? Know he had been out hurt.

The game with Fleming should be a blowout.

Pawsat had 10 believe 2nd game back here. These Sophs are the key to our season there getting and playing some serious defense as a team.

Glad he is OK and back playing. Defense...will win games.:thumb:

Royals came out very flat in this one. Standing around on offense especially. Barner was about the only one showing any fire, and he picked up his 3rd foul in the second quarter and had to sit.

Much more intensity in the second half - filling passing lanes and contesting shots. From the start of the 3rd quarter until less than three and a half minutes to plat, Mason County held the Blue Devils (who had just hung 73 on Bryan Station a couple of nights ago) to nine points. HC's final 9 points came on 3-pointers after the outcome was pretty much decided. Although no lead is safe the way Mason County shoots free throws.

This Royals team will go as far as the defense takes them. Congrats on a very nice road win.

Nice game for Setty again - three in a row, in fact.

And how many ways can the name "Pawsat" be pronounced incorrectly?:D

On a related note, there had to be at least twice as many Mason County fans than Henry Clay fans at this one. Aside from Lexington Catholic, I haven't seen a game in Lexington in the last 2-3 years (granted, I don't go to many) with much fan support at all. I know there's things to do in Lexington on a Friday night, but I would have thought that more than 100 fans would be there to root for the home team.

Mason Countys defense is phenomonal. I was really impressed at Phil Barners Intensity level, I feel he could shut down some of the top players in the state.

Barner has gotten a whole lot better this year. Relies a little too much on his sheer athleticism if he gets beat off the dribble to block the shot from behind, but I will say this for him. He goes all out, he never seems to tire out. The play fairly late in the game where it looked like HC might make a final push to make things interesting, Phil got back and eventually pinned the shot against the backboard. That play pretty much sealed the deal.
