Mason County 54 Henry Clay 44

Featured Replies

Worth noting is the possession where HC got a steal and had basically a 2 on 0 at the other end. Russ Middleton hustles down to the other end in time to affect the layup, which is missed, then Barner absolutely engulfs what would have been the putback. Pretty much tells you all you need to know about the 2nd half.

Here's what I've got for a box:

Mason County 8 14 18 14 -- 54

Henry Clay 14 12 7 11 -- 44

MC: Setty 7 3-8 18, Middleton 6 0-0 12, Downing 5 0-1 10, Pawsat 3 2-3 8, Barner 3 0-2 6, Hamm 0 0-2 0. Totals 24 5-16 54.

HC: P.Stewart 3 4-4 11, Kiesling 5 0-0 10, Barnes 2 2-2 6, Johnson 2 0-0 6, T.Stewart 2 0-0 4, Kendall 2 0-0 4, 1 0-0 3. Totals 17 6-6 44.

3-pointers: MC 1 (Setty); HC 4 (Johnson 2, P.Stewart, Parker).

JV: Henry Clay 48-46.

Records: Mason County 13-4, Henry Clay 12-8.

Exactly - that's the possession I was referencing, and you're right. Barner finished the job that Russ started.:thumb:

The JV game came down to the wire. Mason County was down 6 or 7, got it to 2. Harris tried one of those "intentional misses at the line"; was called for stepping across the line before the ball got to the rim. HC threw a careless inbounds pass, intercepted by Lang, whose 3-point attempt went halfway down before spinning out. MC had another shot from the baseline that missed as time expired, but I don't know if it would have counted.

On the first basket of the game, I believe the announcer said that Prince Stewart of Henry Clay joined the 1,000 point club.

If that is wrong, someone please correct. If not, congrats!:thumb:

Mason Co keeps rolling along and taking care of business. Good road win and should be a pretty easy win coming up against Fleming Co but you can never look past an oppent.

The fans have not come out to watch Henry Clay basketball for about three seasons now.

It is sad for one of the largest schools in the state to have such little fan support.

Another very nice road win for the Royals,They continue to impress.Treg Setty playing like a man last 3 games avg 21.5 and 10.8 boards nice from the young Soph.Henry Clay had just knocked off two top 15 teams in Bryan Station and Dunbar.Up next for Mason is Fleming County Tuesday at the Fieldhouse.

Treg Setty is a stud muffin.:ylsuper::dancingpa

Mason Co is a very good team and may be the favorite in the 10th right now, especially with the unfortunate luck GRC has had with injuries of late.

^ Agreed, at this point in time. When they play 4 quarters full-out, they are tough. If they can knock down some free throws, they'll be even tougher.
