mcpapa Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Bit of a surprise from the 11th. Mason County up next for HC, who is on a nice little roll.
REH5 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Henry Clay was led by Prince Stewart with 23 points including three three point baskets. T.J. Barnes added 14 points. Marquel Johnson also scored 14 points including four three point baskets. Trey Stewart recorded six points and 13 rebounds. Charles Ashford led Bryan Station with 29 points. Joe Fain and Jeremiah Mabson added 13 and 12 points respectively.
gswilder Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) Henry Clay has now won their last 4 games, including another top 10 team in Dunbar last week. They are a young team, that is really starting to come together the last few weeks. They lost 3-4 late-game heartbreakers early in the season. Now they are beginning to finish. HC has also been hampered by some key injuries. Senior Bradley Tilford (their tallest player) has been out lately, along with Brandon Nichols (soph). Brandon Wilder(soph) who was starting early, had an ankle sprain in mid-December and was out 2-3 weeks. He is just now beginning to get back into game form. A freshman point guard (Wes Kimball) is starting to get a lot of playing time for Henry Clay. Keep an eye on this kid, he is something fun to watch. Should be fun at Henry Clay on Friday nite against Mason. Edited January 22, 2009 by gswilder nm
remmac Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Nice win for HC ..... Stewart is very capable of taking over games with his shooting and is one of the finest behind the arc this year (doesn't need a toe at the line either, his range is outstanding ! ) H. Clay is making some noise but needs to bolster their inside game to make a run at RUPP.
bioteacher Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Great win for HC. That have the athletes and the talent just need a little more experience with their young team and another scorer. Coach Brown has got the players to do well. Go Blue Devils!

Coach Brown has got the players to do well. Go Blue Devils! Daniel is a good guy and a solid coach. I look forward to seeing him again at the Bill Keightly Laurel County Hoopfest this Saturday when he takes on his friend and former fellow coach/teammate Jim Conway when HC takes on North Laurel. Glad to see he is doing well!
Log Mountain Boy Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I heard Richardson didn't play. I could see that really hurting BS. Good win for Henry Clay though.
doomer Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Is Morones still out for Bryan Station? I think I saw his name in the box score with 5 pts. maybe. I would suspect he is not back to 100% anyway.
