THEGREENDANDY Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Word is Trinity got all the top CSAA kids again this year. What about the back from Lourdes? Did he also go to Trinity?
Canescat Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Tari Mtangi took the test at Trinity and appears to be ready to become a ROCK.
RockPride Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 What about the back from Lourdes? Did he also go to Trinity? Thankfully the Hall boys couldn't sway him to Poplar Level.
CentreRocks Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Tari Mtangi took the test at Trinity and appears to be ready to become a ROCK. Wow. That kid is special.
thsrocks Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Any word on what this team might look like. Any future stars? I understand Trinity had 430 or so freshmen take the placement exam, including the make-up date and that St. Xavier had greater numbers. I understand 75% usually enroll. Since the days of "having to take your entrance test at a particluar institution to gain admittance" are over, I count 'em once late August arrives and they are in pads. Until then, it's simply speculation. They have 8 months or more (like Krupp :thumb:) to change their minds The Tigers have one of the better QB prospects named Lasley, a lefty from a Fern Creek league. His father is a St. X alumnus and under "no circumstances" was he going to allow his son to attend Trinity. The father is an old friend and I understand where he is coming from. The Tigers are getting a Miller out of Lourdes, a first for that family. Paulie may be a little surprised . This Miller was a critical cog in the Lourdes offense and defense. He also is Mr. Glasford's nephew. Mr. Glasford's son will help the Tigers. You can't beat free tuition for a teacher's son . The Tigers are getting a good lineman with some size from the Lourdes' final 4 team. His name escapes me because he is not a Lourdes student (and he's not attending Trinity :irked:). I'm confident Mr. Meiners at St. Patrick's will do all he can legally do for his alma mater. The Celtics had some big & talented boys.
Rocks8010 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Tari Mtangi took the test at Trinity and appears to be ready to become a ROCK. Tari is heading to Trinity. He hangs out with my daughter and her friends he told me so the other night. it helps winning 4 in a row!

Kid is fast, good thing there is not a weight limit so maybe he will play all season. I know X got the Ackerson kid form Holy Spirit. He is an animal.
barrel Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I know nothing about the CSAA but I do have a question. thsRock said a kid played on one of the teams but did not go to the school. How does that work?

The QB from St Patrick is going to Trinity-Travis Wright. He ate up the CSAA including St Gabriel in the Toy Bowl. He seems to be a perfect fit for Trinity's offense. Alan Jones Jr from St Martha RB/QB/DB is going to Trinity. I hope that all the lineman from St Patrick go to St X!
THEGREENDANDY Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 I wonder when the varsity thread starts?
Rocks8010 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I wonder when the varsity thread starts? I am looking forward to talking about both X & T for 2009. It's time Guru!
thsrocks Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 He's a member of the church, just doesn't go to school there. A) Eligibility of players of parishes that have no classes for a specific grade, no school at all, or do not attend a Catholic School - 1.) They must be a baptized Catholic and they must have completed the appropriate sacraments of initiation for their age. 2.) Their parents or guardians must be bona fide members of the parish for which they play. 3.) They may not be in 9th grade or over, even if they are of the correct age. B)Many CSAA schools combine their boys to have football teams. Our Lady of Lourdes has players from St. Leonard and Sacred Heart Model School.
