You going Rec?

I plan on it... That is if we have it, there hasn't been anything stating that we are or not for sure come across as of yet.

Coach Copley has been notified, don't know yet if he is planning on coming but we will know soon, so a decision needs to be made on the booster meeting, asap...

I'll be there.

I believe the meeting is still on.

Good, I hope there is a great turnout. This will be a great way to get the ball rolling, get more people involved and work toward a new beginning at Greenup!

Rut row, someone better call all those immigrants and tell them they can't run away from the problems in their home countries, the civil war, slavery, and other acts of cruelty and tell them they have to go back and suck it up, you can't run away in "Real Life".

I know that is extreme, but student transfer from schools all the time, and each has their own reasons, real or perceived. You can't make students stay at your school, and you can't control who comes to your school from other schools (to an extent).

Just wish the boy well and move on.

He has a "Bonafide Change of Address", end of story, if Greenup protested it they would lose, and that is exactly what Matt Baker said.

Seems odd, a student moves into the Raceland district and enrolls in Raceland schools, but Raceland "Took". I think if a student moves into the district Raceland has to take them.

And, I laugh as I ask, what should Raceland give?

If a student/parents want to enroll at Raceland, they can. If they are out of district, Raceland assures that the student is not a disaplinary problem and has good grades, then the student is allowed to enroll.

The student wants to attend Raceland, and Raceland will allow them. Where is the problem. Can't Greenup County or any other school do the same thing?

Athos, I'm just curious, what should a school district do if a student comes and wants to enroll? Should they say, "thanks, but why don't you go to one of our neighboring schools instead"? I mean really, if a student comes to the school and the parents want to enroll them there, what should they do? Schools are in the school business, without students there is no business.

You said that you removed your last post because you were tired of the hypocrisy, what hypocrisy? No one is telling your school to not take transfers, or to not let student/athletes come there. Raceland says, "Here is the Raceland School District, come if you want". Some come to Raceland, some do not, it is the student's/parent's choice. There is nothing unethical, illegal, immoral, or shady going on. It is out in the open, the doors are open to all to come if they choose. That is the way it always has been and the way it will likely always be.

:laugh:That's the funniest thing I have read in a long time. 12-1, enough said.

A HUGE :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: on all statements! I certainly and especially agree with the last one, that is hilarious.:laugh:

Look, Im just going to throw this out there. "Who cares" , we have a new coach, there is about to be great things happening, I am tired of talking about transfers, if you want to leave then leave. I'm not begging anyone to stay. It is time for this community to step up and do everything possible for the new coach, because I can assure you he is going to go the extra mile every day.

Great post Coupon, no onme ever goes foward by looking in the rear view mirror. I wish GCHS all the best except for on my birthday (Sept. 11) this season.:D
