wildcatfan
8-7 Boone after one. They extended the lead to 15 in the 2nd and led by about 11 at half. They led by as many as 11 in the 4th but CCH made it interesting. Boone never trailed after the first few minutes. CCH's guards struggled with Boone's defensive and full court pressure. Nerls had a good game for CCH (23). Gabbard and Popp had 17 and 16 for Boone. Popp had a bunch of steals. McFarland had 11 for Boone. Last basket was made by CCH was as time was running out. Boone hit their free throws well in the 4th Q. CCH missed the front end of a few key 1 and 1's in the 3rd and 4th Q. Game was not as close as the final score indicated. The Fireman
The Camels had their chances to take the lead many times. Boone would be of 8-10 and the Camels would make a run and cut it 2-3 and then Boone would build the lead back up. The only think I didn't like was at 1:00 mark, Camels down by 2 and Boone had the ball, Boone decides to just pass the ball around and not attempt to shoot and it was obivious. The Camels waited until 30 seconds was left to foul and Boone hit their free throws. Campbell had some careless turnovers tonight as well as Boone, it was kind of sloppy, the Camels just had a few more than Boone that is why Boone won. I'd like congradulate the Rebels on a good game! Eta Rho
Did either team play any defense? I'm surprised at how much both teams scored.
wildcatfan
Boone had 15 steals in the game. They had 25 turnovers, but CCH probably had more than that. I think the score would have been lower, but both teams made double bonus in both halves. Lots of free throws were made. Yes there were many turnovers for each team and in fact Boone had one or two more than the Camels. Boone was 24/31 and Camels were 15/19 from the line. Would like to have seen more consistent officiating but as you can see they were busy on both sides.

Eta Rho
Somewhat closer than I expected. I know Boone led throughout, but I wouldn't exactly call a two point win as not being close as the score indicates.

I know Boone led throughout, but I wouldn't exactly call a two point win as not being close as the score indicates. So I guess Holmes' 5 point victory over Scott Co. earlier this season was not as close as the score indicated according to you? Boone led by 10+ for much of the game. Each time Campbell Co. made a run, Boone pushed it out. Boone led by 4 when CCH made a meaningless basket as time expired.
ballerm
The atmosphere at the game was less than electrifying...the crowds at Camel's home games is definately not a plus for the team. Not that there are few fans just quiet fans. There are times I have to wonder if its an away game. The student section is too busy socializing and the parents/community section is like the old wine and cheese crowd at North Carolina games! Come on Camel fans get off your hands put down your cheese and support the team. Let's make some noise, hey you never know you may have more fun!:jump:

gchs_uk9
When you're actually playing good competition....yes. Some games played this year... -Jeffersontown 74, Lexington Catholic 62 -Corbin 74, Lexington Catholic 71 -Scott County 71, Mason County 64 -Scott County 90, Ballard 70 -Holmes 70, Scott County 65 -Bryan Station 86, Holmes 72 Color me confused. Are the above teams not "good competition?" I think 9th/northern 10th Region people are used to those 40-35 snoozers between Highlands/Brossart/Ryle, etc. and forget that the object of the game, while playing good defense, is ultimately putting up more points than your opponent. Sorry, but 69-67 is not high scoring.
