Any thoughts on GC transfer Rister starting at QB for the Rams in 09'?

IMO he's a great athelete and will help the Rams offense that lost so many seniors.

I think it will be a three horse race, and Rister will have his chance to earn the position. I think all three: Farley, Reed, and Riser will have a chance to prove themselves and the coaches will make an evaluation and start the one that will give Raceland the best chance at success.

 

I think Reed and Rister will be on the field for Raceland is some capacity, no matter who the starting QB.

I would say that is a pretty safe bet Ram, those two athletes will be on the field and will contribute greatly from whatever position the coaching staff sees fit to put them in.

I like Rister for the Rams he is a very good player IMO.:ylsuper:

Totally agree with you Ram...Raceland has to have the best athletes on the field where they'll help the team have the best chance to win.

 

I remember in HS one season Coach McGlone moved a FB to guard in order to help us have a better team. it was a sacrifice, but we were better because of it.

I am not sure what you meant with the "arguing heads" but I will tell you this, we have 3 very qualified candidates for the starting QB position and that is a good thing. How many schools in Eastern KY can honestly say that? The coaches will evaluate all 3 and the best QB will start, period. It will not matter what parents, fans or BGP posters say.....it will be decided in the weight room and on the practice field. I think this is a healthy thing and a true leader will emerge and lead the 2009 Rams into battle. I think the Rams are going to be good if not great next season and one reason is the battle for playing time at all positions. We have 6 or 7 running backs trying to get playing time. We have atleast that many plus the RB's that are not starting vying for receiver slots and we have 7 legitimate starters going for 5 lineman positions. If that isn't a good problem, I don't know what is.

I've been dying to say this for several weeks, so I'll amend it to the off-season work outs. Boys, we need you to TCB in the weight room and in agilities, so we can keep up the success that you predecessors have set forth.

Thank you, PureFan. The same goes for Greenup. I hope the new coach supplies the missing ingredients to bring back respectability to the program.

Rister is a very polished passer. He has great form and has worked very hard with a QB coach (Andy Hall) I believe. If no politics play a part in this decision then I believe without a doubt Rister is the starting QB in Ramland this season.

We're not going to have a quarterback this season, we are going to have two half backs, and put all three quarterbacks together and have one three-quarters back. That will solve the problem, if we can get the KHSAA to agree to let us play with 13 offensive players.
