It seems like a good problem until the starter has a bad game and the talking begins about how the backup or backups should be starting. I know you guys like to think that these kinds of things dont happen at Raceland, but a QB issue is a bad situiation no matter where it is.

We're not going to have a quarterback this season, we are going to have two half backs, and put all three quarterbacks together and have one three-quarters back. That will solve the problem, if we can get the KHSAA to agree to let us play with 13 offensive players.

 

:lol: Somehow I don't think they would go for that. Maybe we will line up in the old single wing and the snap could go to any one of them . That way they can take turns :idunno:.

I say all of this in joking around as others are but seriously..........the last thing that we need is for bickering back and forth to start and I certainly hope that it doesn't.

 

I full well trust that our coaches will have the people in the position that they feel will best help the "TEAM", that is what Raceland Football was built on and is all about....."TEAM" play. :thumb:

That is true. But the one thing that the Raceland coaches have been able to do is sell the team concept and to accept your role. I promise you this, the best player will play the position. Parents may not like it, but I honestly don't think that is a factor in the coaches head.

That is the way it should be, but nothing makes more trouble for a coach than a starting QB having a bad game with 3 good QB's on the bench, and they're parents being vocal about a change. I hate to sound negative but I saw what it did to GC 2 years ago with Craft and Mayhan, It was terrible, and that was with just 1 good QB on the bench not 3.

I agree, and I don't see alot of Raceland's talent sitting on the bench if they can perform in other positions besides QB. Having a team attitude has always been one of Raceland's strengths. :thumb:

I can tell you that the best one will win the spot. The coaches want to win. Who ever gives the Rams the best chance to win will be in there. I don't care who you are or where you are from. The cream will always come to the top. Must be a leader with a strong arm and can take a hit. Must be able to move around and down the field quick. If you have these qualities and your up to the job, you can apply before July 15 @ 500 Ram Blvd.

Exactly, the Raceland coaches will put the best athletes on the field in the position that they feel will help the "TEAM" have the most sucsess, no matter the position....the best athletes will be on the field in the position that the coaches feel helps the "TEAM" the most. That is the way it should be.

Any of this "he has to be here or there" bc of whatever reason...... the "he wants this, he wants that"...... "his parents want this and do this and feel he should be here or there" need not apply.
