Eta Rho
Just got in from the game: First quarter Holmes jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead before Harrison Co would score their first two points. Next possession down Holmes got in transition and Rico found Pittman down low for a nice two hand dunk to go up 9-2. After this Holmes would go on a 9-4 run to close out the first quarter up 18-6. Holmes size down low (Pittman) was way too much for Harrison and they couldn't stop them around the basket. Second quarter Holmes didn't slow down any. They got hot from outside and continued to score at will around the basket. I'd say Pittman was at double figures before the end of the half. Toward the end of the second quarter, Rico drove hard to the rim and got tripped and fell hard on his head. He came out of the game probably a minute later and didn't play the rest of the game. Holmes went in to the half up 36-13. Third quarter Holmes came out hot and didn't slow down from where they left off in the first half. With 5:55 left they were up 42-15. I believe Riley and D. Johnson made back to back 3's to start the second half. At the 3:00 mark Holmes had increased their lead to 50-17 and Pittman was done for the night as well as Rico and JJ. This is the point where Harrison started to score. Holmes led 55-23 after 3. Fourth quarter Holmes started with Rice, Herndon, Slusher, Arnold, and Housely on the floor and slowly started subbing in the rest of the JV. Harrison went on a 10-4 run to close the gap to 59-33 at the 2:30 mark. This is when Mcclendon would finally enter the game. Took two three's but missed both. Harrison left their starters in until the final horn sounded (outside of Custard) which gave you the final of 63-42. Game was never close and Holmes continues to roll and shoot the ball VERY WELL from outside. Dom Johnson had probably 9 points from three pointers alone. Pittman was a beast down low and scored any time he got the ball around the rim as did JJ. Housely also had a nice game and made a few jumpers. Holmes is really rolling along right now heading in to their big game with Largo. For Harrison Co, Custard was probably the leading scorer. Forced up a lot of shots to get his points though and didn't really start rolling until Pittman and the Johnson Brothers came out. He is very quick though and can handle the ball pretty well. Needs to use his left hand more though. Scoring by quarters: Holmes (16-1)- 18 18 19 8- 63 Harrison Co (10-9)- 6 7 10 19-

tezzyrice
Holmes defense has been amazing since the first BS game. I think playing Cov. Cath and HC in games in which both teams took air out of the ball, has taught this team to be patient on offense.
Dawg81
I had a game tonite with our boys traveling to Cincy, so I was not able to attend . With Eta always reporting, it is like I am there. I don't know what you do for a living, you sure can tell it like you see it! :thumb: Still a nice win for the Bulldogs no matter the score. :flame:

I'd say Eli probably had atleast 5 blocks and even Riley had 3 or 4. BTW, Arnold played VERY WELL again today. Finished in double figures again with a few nice outside shots and jumpers where he took his defender off the dribble.

Eta Rho
And for those who love a fan favorite, James Rice of Holmes scored a career high 4 points today. :thumb:
Eta Rho
CCH didn't take the air out of the ball. They simply missed shots. Both teams forced Holmes to be more patient than normal is what I think tezzy is getting at.
tezzyrice
CCH didn't take the air out of the ball. They simply missed shots. They played zone to slow the game down. I should have been more clear. What I was trying to get too is, that both teams took possessions out of the game with there style of play.
