I was referring to Rico's length and size possibly giving Meyer fits offensively.

 

Defensivly Rico is probably Holmes best defender this year. Not sure how he'd compare to Henderson from last year. Rico held Maile of CCH to 10 points though and was able to hold Euton of SC to 9 points.

From watching FCHS play many times this year I am not willing to say that the whole athleticism trait will be a factor. Dont get me wrong Holmes has tons of athletes but Ryan Conner is one heck of an athlete himself snatching 17 rebounds against Shelby County Tuesday night. If Meyer, Donavan, and Hall could all get hot in the same game the Flyers would be deadly. All in all I see a close game regardless of who is or isnt playing. FC is not going to just roll over and play dead to anybody, ask Jamesville-Dewitt about that. Go Flyers!!!!

Holmes is a tough out for anyone especially at home. The Flyers will miss Hicks and Watkins, but I do not believe they will rollover. Keys will be to stay out of foul trouble and take charges. Secondly, they need to pump fake and make the backdoor cuts to keep Holmes from jumping the passing lanes. Regardless of the outcome, Franklin County will respect their opponent, but they will battle.

I think this will be an easy win for Covington Holmes ay home.

I think Holmes athleticism might give that lineup some problems.

I looked up Brandon Triche, and appears he is an excellent shooter, and he is ranked in the top 200 in the class of 2009 according to espn. He has no where near the athleticism Rico has, also Rico is taller and longer. They also said he is an average defender and could condidtion his body more. Rico is Holmes best defender. I also learned that the ESPN profile is outdated as Triche supposedly had an ACL injury his junior year that he had to come back from. With regard to conditioning, ESPN is off the mark. The kid is a specimen and plays very good defense. He is as explosive a player as I have seen live in high school basketball in the last two years and yes I attended the sweet 16 last year. The other thing the kid had was unbelievable body control. His high school is very close to Syracuse. My guess is Jimmy Behiem was on him early and often.

Can't wait until tomarrow. Holmes should win, don't know much about them. Just they're record, which is not to bad.

If he gets a half step on anyone they are in trouble because he is a big body at 6'4'' 210 lbs, and he is definitely in shape now. I would say Rico is probably a better defensive player because Triche gets lazy sometimes, but no one on Holmes is close to the offensive threat that Triche is.

That is a stout statistic!!!!! With two others shooting 50% as well it is no wonder Homes is the scariest team in the state.

 

It will be interesting to see the comparison between Jamesville- Dewitt and Holmes as JD had a 6' 9" freshman that looked and played like a college freshman and a 6' 3" guard that was quick on quick and shot about 80% from three against FC scoring 29 points. All three on JD are D1's IMO.

 

Of course Holmes is loaded with D1's as well.

 

Again it will be an extremely difficult test for FC especially with out two of their top six. Hopefully FC will give maximum effort and will come out of this game with experience that will help them in the second half of their schedule.

 

Maybe they won't be so beat up that they can come back Saturday and get a win against Dixie Hieghts.
