I was recently talking to a college coach about Holmes junior Elijah Pittman. He allowed that Pittman didn't just have a frame to play Division I basketball, but that he had an "NBA frame." That might sound like silly talk to be coming out of Northern Kentucky, but the kid's 6-7 -- and probably not done growing -- with a 7-foot wingspan. So, yeah.

Makes sense to me. Look at Rajon Rondo. I always said Rajon Rondo would be much better in the NBA than he would be in college. Physically and skill set wise, Rondo is just a much better fit for the NBA style game than the college game.

I agree. Not sure if Pittman is NBA caliber since he still has a LONG WAY to go in working on his current grey areas of his game, but I found it surprising that college coaches think he's got an "NBA frame" already as a junior in high school.

Ricardo might not be getting the stats neccessary, but he does so much other stuff for the team. He can take over a game when they need him to and I would want the ball in his hands in crunch time. JMO...One example is the Connor game where he took control of the game in the 4th for holmes.

 

I totally agree with you. Pittman is scoring more than R. Johnson, but he also takes way more shots than Rico. I believe if Ricardo wanted to he he could score the most points, but he is extremely unselfish and just cares about winning. So you can't just go by stats. IMO Ricardo is still the leader of the Bulldogs.

I agree that Ricardo is extremely unselfish and the ONE OF the leaders of that team, but Pittman is taking more shots than Rico because he plays around the rim more. Going in to tonight game:

 

Pittman:

FG 84-152 (55%)

 

R. Johnson:

FG 48-110 (44%)

 

I'll take Pittman shooting more any day. Ricardo is the better OVERALL player though as he can play and be efficient from anywhere on the floor.

Sure Maile averages more points than Riley and R. Johnson but he also doesn't have the same supporting cast which is the reason his PPG are higher. I'd also consider Pittman and Rico better defenders than Maile. There's more to a player's game than just offense. Pittman, Riley, and R. Johnson are all three have a better OVERALL game and shoot better from outside.

 

But we already established that Rico and Maile shoot the same percentage, yet you said that Maile takes a lot more shots and is more out of control. So would it not be tougher to shoot that percentage for Rico if he didn't have the supporting cast and had to force more? Your logic isn't quite clear...:idunno:

I agree. Lol How many of Pittman's field goals are dunks? Those are usually high percentage shots!

If you watched the Holmes vs CCH game you saw Pittman constantly talking to people, and you never see that with Ricardo. Rico lets his game talk and thats what you have to do.
