Camels Baseball 09

Featured Replies

There is a big difference between JV and Varsity hitting. But only time will tell so we will just have to see. But the Camels did have a good JV pitching staff last year so they have potential.

Zach Sellers should have a very good year if they use him properly and use him often. He has about 4 pitches that he controls very well.

Fast ball between 75-80 but his off speed stuff is absolutely amazing when he is on. If he pitches alot of innings he will be very effective. Good reliever and spot starter.

Joey Rief of the camels is most likely to be the #2 starter for the camels this year. He pitched jv and varsity last year and is going to be really impressive this year. IMO He posted a 0.76 ERA last year for jv and should be a big part of the rotation this year.

From the looks of it, the camels should have good competition for that #2 spot. :deadhorse:

JV and Varisty are two entirely different levels but still 0.76 ERA is impressive.

If Rief can convert that JV pitching to Varsity then that is fantastic news. Sellers, Rust, and Carrier would be big pitching pluses also.

4 pitches? Try 1 and a half. Anyone who has ever faced him is looking for the curve or his slow motion fast ball and he's been rocked several times due to this.

Harrison has a boatload of pitchers that threw hard when they were in the 37th. Rodriguez from Bourbon County also threw hard. The last year of Harrison County being in the 37th (2005), they had the trio of Clifford, Hamm and Muntz who could all bring it. Nicholas had a couple of good pitchers when they went to the Final 4 as well.

Well fastest in the 37th district would be really a none issure since Campbell County and Brossart, and Scott havent been in that district but for 2 years, this being the 3rd.

Actually this year will the be the 4th. The district re-alignment was in 2006.

Is the Shay boy still at Campbell CTY. If so, where does he fit in?

He's at Silver Grove.

Shay's father is coaching the Big Trains this year, but Nick hasn't been released and as of now is not playing baseball this year . . he would've been a huge help at shortstop for the Camels.
