First Girl's LIT Rankings

You're entitled to it. But, if Jones only got 7 shots and they made 24 TO's they wouldn't win.

Oops, don't know how I got that link. Sorry about the confusion guys. I'll do better next time. haha

I am more of a 10th region fan, but I have to say the girls 9th region from 1-8 is very strong.

IMO there are seveal teams that can win the 9th.

I think in the 8th or 10th there are only about two contenders in each region.

The 9th region is going to be very interesting....

I like Highlands but I won't be surprised if someone else represents the region in Bowling Green.

Where is the region tournament being held this season?

Would Manual have beaten Boone Co. or Notre Dame? ND beat Christian by 20+. Lets' just say they're both pretty good.

Could we clarify the "Christian" in the thread? Notre Dame beat Lexington "Christian" Academy (LCA) by 20-plus points, but "Christian" Academy of Louisville (CAL) beat Notre Dame by 19 points, 51-32 (incorrectly reported as 54-32 on the KHSAA site).

In regard to the Litkenhous, aka Litratings, they have existed for decades for a variety of sports and likely will continue along with the debates. However, misunderstanding could be lessened if fans would read the statement the Courier-Journal publishes about the Litratings' formula:

"The Litratings are a computerized power ranking of each team in Kentucky based on a formula that includes records, strength of schedule and margin of victory. Games against out-of-state opponents are not included."

--Head-to-head games count no more, no less, than other games.

--Manual's rating of 99.8 is so slight over Rowan County's 99.1 that it could change on a weekly basis, even if neither team loses, based on strength of schedule.

--Perhaps most important, the only true ranking will be determined during the post-season district, regional, and state tournaments.

Could anyone post the Girls 10th Region Rankings?

I can't get the link to work.

This has been talked about on the news, but it is finally official. The 9th Region Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament will be moved starting next year to the new Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. Here is the release from the arena.

The Bank of Kentucky Center secures Region Nine Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament Highland Heights, KY, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - The Bank of Kentucky Center, set to open in September, is proud to announce a multi-year agreement to host the Region Nine Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments beginning in March of 2009 and running for three consecutive years.

"We are extremely excited to be playing the Region Nine Tournaments here at the new Bank of Kentucky Center," said Chad Molley, Lloyd High School athletic director and assistant principal, "The Center is a first class facility and we are very pleased to be bringing a first class tournament to it."

A three-year agreement with the premier basketball tournament in Northern Kentucky will feature the boys and girls tournaments both being played at the 9,400 seat venue on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. The deal begins in 2009 and runs through the 2011 tournament and will feature the following dates:

March 2-10, 2009

March 1-9, 2010

February 28 - March 8, 2011

"Getting this event into the Bank of Kentucky Center has been a priority from the first day I started here," said Les Crooks, general manager for the Bank of Kentucky Center, "NKU is serious about this being a special events center for the entire region and getting these tournaments is the first step. The Region Nine athletic directors have been a pleasure to work with and I would like to thank them for their insight and guidance during this process." Crooks also added, "With 9,400 seats in our basketball setup, we will not need to clear the Center between games nightly and we will have plenty of on-site parking available to patrons."

Tickets will be priced at $8 for each day's session and will go on sale after the first of the year (2009). A limited number of $10 courtside seats will be available for each session as well.
