formerkywrestler
What albums did you really like that came out in 2008? What albums do you still want to get/hear? Here are the albums I would own from 2008 that I have heard enough of to form an opinion and would own: Brighter Than Creation's Dark - Drive-By Truckers 19 - Adele New Amerykah: Part 1 (4th World War) - Erykah Badu Another Country - Tift Merritt Rockferry - Duffy Same Old Man - John Hiatt Trouble in Mind - Hayes Carll Tha Carter III - Lil Wayne Evil Urges - My Morning Jacket Heart of Stone - Chris Knight One Kind Favor - B.B. King Cardinology - Ryan Adams & The Cardinals Fearless - Taylor Swift 808s & Heartbreak - Kanye West The Point of it All - Anthony Hamilton What do you think of these albums? These are the releases I'm still interested in buying/listening to/etc.: Hernando - North Mississippi All-Stars Warpaint - The Black Crowes Asking for Flowers - Kathleen Edwards (Jim, I'm such a slacker, I know you told me about this way back when it came out) Keep It Simple - Van Morrison Consolers of the Lonely - The Raconteurs Vagrants & Kings - Cory Morrow Lay it Down - Al Green Last Days at the Lodge - Amos Lee Two Men with the Blues - Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis That Lonesome Song - Jamey Johnson Comal County Blue - Jason Boland & The Stragglers Only by the Night - Kings of Leon Tennessee Pusher - Old Crow Medicine Show Little Honey - Lucinda Williams Maybe some of the music buffs can shine some light on these I haven't listened to yet. So BGP land...what are the albums for you?

Aiden Seamus
Only By The Night - Kings of Leon is great and deserves a purchase. IMO, get all of their albums. This band is a must-see live too.

Aiden Seamus
I've never heard anything by them. But a friend whose musical opinion I greatly respect has suggested them to me. I'll have to check it out sometime soon. I first heard them about 3 years ago when a buddy took me to one of their live shows at Headliner's in Louisville. When they play live they sound exactly like they do on their albums. Some songs I would recommend if you haven't heard them before are: "Sex on Fire" (Only By The Night) "Use Somebody" (Only By The Night) "The Bucket" (Aha Shake Heartbreak) "Slow Night, So Long" (Aha Shake Heartbreak) "Soft" (Aha Shake Heartbreak) "Knocked Up" (Because of the Times) "On Call" (Because of the Times) "Ragoo" (Because of the Times) "Fans" (Because of the Times) "Molly's Chambers" (Youth and Young Manhood) "California Waiting" (Youth and Young Manhood)
20/20Hindsight
Surprisingly, I really enjoy Taylor Swift's Fearless cd. A few of her songs are a little young for me, but most of them are really quite relateable. (A little embarassing to admit, given that I'm...oh...about ten years older than her.) Anyway, my favorites are Love Story, White Horse, and Can't Breathe (w/ Colbie Callait). I am definitely impressed with her songwriting capabilities, especially since she is still so young. If she continues she will be really good and her songwriting is good, especially for her age.
