I use both Firefox and Internet Explorer but I only use IE in the few cases that I must. Lotus Notes' web access is not fully compatible with Firefox 3, so I use IE to access my company mail from home. Otherwise, I would stay as far away from Internet Explorer as possible to avoid all of the bugs and periodic security risks.

 

I have not used a Mac in several years, but a couple of the Notes developers who I work with will not use anything else at home - and they were longtime Windows users before getting their first Macs because of better iTunes and iPod compatibility. Most people who have used both Macs and PCs extensively prefer Macs - at least that has been my experience.

Right now IE on my laptop, but I haven't downloaded Firefox or Opera yet. I use Opera Mini on my BlackBerry.

I use Internet Explorer 7.0. The main reason is that the bank I do business with says not to use Firefox because of issues with the security system that the bank uses.

The biggest reason is that Firefox is not as big a target for hackers as IE 7. Firefox used to have a big lead in features, IMO, such as tabs but Microsoft has pretty much caught up in the feature department.

 

You might also want to check out the add-ons that are available for Firefox and if you are not committed to Outlook Express, Thunderbird is a nice email client that compliments Firefox well.

I don't know what to tell you about extra junk. Whenever I order from Dell, there are all kinds of options to remove software. And if there is anything that sneaks through, it takes no time at all to remove it.

 

 

 

I graduated high school in 2002 and so I used them heavily until that point. That was already after the whole revolution Macs were having, though before Leopard. I've used them at clients since then.

 

As I've said, I don't think we're going to agree, and I can acknowledge that my experience with PCs and computers in general may be why I am able to use PCs effectively where someone else would have trouble and therefore pick up a Mac better.

Well, I was saying that in reference to you saying someone would be able to pick up a Mac faster than a PC. I certainly wasn't trying to say it was you that would have trouble.

Just switched to Safari and it looks clean. Did use IE. I think I like the look.

I have been using Chrome for several days now. I'm growing quite fond of it. The incognito feature is quite nice. I also like how a new tab comes up with most visited websites. It seems to run faster as well.

Just switch to Linux and you'll never argue about an OS again.

I like Mint, a variant of Ubuntu, myself. It is free, has a beautiful interface, and I have never been infected with a virus running Linux. I currently run Mint on one desktop and Windows XP Pro on another. At this moment, I am configuring a used IBM Thinkpad that just arrived and also uses XP Pro. On Friday, I should be getting a Toshiba Satellite that runs XP Home.

 

I will be running on Firefox 3 on all of the Windows machines, as well as the Linux box.

 

But what I would really like to be running at home is Leopard...

I started using FireFox about a year ago and like it. I really can't tell the difference between IE and FF.
