December 30, 200817 yr A so so signing IMO. My big question with the Reds is, why are they not going after Pat the Bat? Right handed Adam Dunn.
December 30, 200817 yr Cincinnati is not suited to play small ball in GABP. They need some sort of power presence in the lineup. This signing is pretty good. His OBP is scary for a leadoff guy...it is almost...gulp...Corey Patterson like. Reds have had power presence in their lineup for years....
December 30, 200817 yr It still didn't keep the outfielders from playing deeper than they normally would to keep the balls out of the gaps. Exactly. Even if humidor took away lift or depth or used-to-be homers, those used-to-be homers should be falling in the cavernous gaps. Short fence you can play shallow....cavernous park you play deeper.
December 30, 200817 yr A so so signing IMO. My big question with the Reds is, why are they not going after Pat the Bat? Pat the Bat would be Adam Dunn Part Deux from the Right side.
December 30, 200817 yr This is written from a fantasy baseball viewpoint but it is dead on in its description of Taveras: One Trick Pony
December 30, 200817 yr I think that he will help them. But IMO they have to do a lot more than this to turn this team around.
December 30, 200817 yr I think that he will help them. But IMO they have to do a lot more than this to turn this team around. What else do you think they need? I think they're closer than they have been in a while.
December 30, 200817 yr What else do you think they need? I think they're closer than they have been in a while. :scared::scared: A little optimism from malachicrunch? :scared:
December 31, 200817 yr :scared::scared: A little optimism from malachicrunch? :scared: I always said, if they make some good moves, I'd respond in such a manner. Took em a while though.
December 31, 200817 yr Deal is worth 6.25 million over the two years A little more expensive than I had hoped. But, you have to remember that we paid Corey Patterson $3 million last year.
December 31, 200817 yr Pat the Bat would be Adam Dunn Part Deux from the Right side. Better average, defense, and fewer K's, but other than that.....
December 31, 200817 yr Dunn and Burrell are the same....give or take a little either way..but both are dreadful defensively.
