Unranked and happy to stay there. Under the radar.[/quote]

Not mine...look for them to make some noise in post season.

Not really, untill the 4th qtr. Both teams missed close in shots, turned the ball over, missed free throws and generally tried to see who could give it away first. Even with all the bad plays of the Royals, the only thing that kept Franklin Co. from losing was their rebounding. If they hadn't grabbed some of the offensive boards they did, Mason should have still won the game by 1, 2 or 3 points tops. Coach O'Hearn credited his defense in keeping the game as close as it was. All in all a good defensive matchup by both teams.
And their defense, they have proved time and time again that they have a very good half court man Defense.
I would have to agree with this. Franklin County is a perrenial middle of the road team in the 11th. Some how they keep winning close games. I think this game was probably a fluke.

You jest as usual> FC is the real deal and should be ranked> I think the FC Flyers will be there when it counts in Feb>

Put the 6'8" kid on the block and play inside out with Meyers and the skies the limit.

I wish we had a 6'8" kid. I'd put him on the block where he belongs:D

Meyers is the young man that will make this team go in Feb.

FC changed their offense a bit. They didn't shoot well as a team, but that is not unusual in a slugfest kind of game. I think the change will pay benefits as the season progresses. I would like to see FC push the tempo more, they run the floor well.

Meyer is playing very well. Had a tough responsibility yesterday as Hall picked up two early fouls. He has been the most consistent scorer, is making excellent decisions, and hit the boards hard yesterday as well.

Way to go Flyers!!!!! Keep working and knock em off one at a time don't sleep on the small teams, and get better each week wish I would have made the trip up to Maysville.

You wouldnt have seen the game in Maysville. This was played at Bourbon Co. in the Kentucky Bank Shootout.

Franklin Co. was ranked 2nd pre-season in the 11th region in the Cats Pause Yearbook.

I knew that just forgot, just wish I could have been there. I think FC can make some noise if they can keep getting better.

You only shoot 3 -17 from the line & you deserve to lose by 1 point

I'm tired of all these people talking about how badly Mason shot from the line. Franklin County shot a terrible percentage from the line as well and shot worse from the field than Mason. They did not even play close to their best. They only scored 48 points. A team with great shooters did not shoot well at all. Defense is what won them this game.

Nice win for the Flyers! Seems Mason County is getting back on the right path though!

Congrats to the Flyers...this was a nice win for a program that has perennially been a tough team to beat.

But - despite my respect for the Flyers - I'm very surprised to hear that FC was ranked 2nd in the pre-season in the 11th. Certainly no dis-respect at all to FC...they will be a force to be reckoned with - but they were ranked above Scott County or Bryan Station?????? (didn't see the Cats Pause this year)

They were ranked 2nd behind Scott County....which was nice, but really doesn't mean much. Pre-season, it looked like Scott County was the team to beat, and then a pick-em between Dunbar, Franklin County, Lexington Catholic, then Bryan Station maybe. Bryan Station and Lexington Catholic were both supposed to be rebuilding, but both have done very well. Dunbar was strong coming into the season, and looks good. Franklin County returned everyone and has high expectations. Madison Central and Tates Creek have started off well also. That is basketball in the 11th region. Always tough.

Meyer is sure a nice guard. He can shoot the three, a very good passer and plays a good mam to mam defense. He plays smart ball.
