How big of an upset was this?

Per Danny Weddle's Blog at http://www.soft96.com

The Mason County Royals made just 3-of-16 free throws in a 48-47 loss to the Franklin County Flyers today in the Kentucky Bank Shootout at Bourbon County. There were four ties and seven lead changes in the game. With Franklin County leading 46-45, Mason County missed four short shots and two technical free throws. Did Neal Pawsatt not play? That could explain the rebounding difference.

He played, but did not score.

This was not a upset. Felt like it could go either way.

Tough loss for Mason County, free throws killed them. Franklin County shot very poorly tonight, and they are usually a very good shooting team. Several times they started to pull away and missed open looks or turned the ball over. That being said I see it as a matchup between two teams, that although each had different problems tonight, will play each other close no matter what. I think both will get better as the season goes on.

Good win for the Flyers. Ugly fourth quarter on both sides today. I was glad to see the Flyers pull this one out.

Really! Turning point in the game was when Mason Co. fouled Hicks and Hicks was called for a T for mouthing off. Hicks missed the front end FT, Middleton missed both technical FT's and then Mason Co. couldn't score on the possession. Also they missed 4 layup type shots within the last minute or so.
I t was Conner not Hicks.
Sounds like minds were in Daytona Beach, embarassing loss for the Royals. Not for who they played, but how they played. Been awhile since heard a Royals team get out rebounded that bad
I would have to agree with this. Franklin County is a perrenial middle of the road team in the 11th. Some how they keep winning close games. I think this game was probably a fluke.

What is FC's state ranking?

Quite frankly I don't think Pawsatt could rebound with Conner, Donovan, Watkins and Meyer on his best day. The Flyers are extremely strong on the boards. Mason County simply got out muscled.
What is FC's state ranking?
Unranked and happy to stay there. Under the radar.
What is FC's state ranking?

Somewhere 15 to 20 in Herald Leader and Courier Journal...unranked in BGP, but maybe that will change. I would think Mason to be in that range as well. Main thing is to get better for February.

Good luck to Mason County in Florida.

Mason Co makes the free ones the game is over.
I disagree with this. FC shot poorly from the line as well, they missed several front ends.
