December 17, 200817 yr That sounds horrible. The flight is a little over an hour, which means that you can leave at 9:00 AM and get there around 9:15 AM, due to the time difference. The drive isn't too bad (about 5 hours) but Indiana is one of the most boring states you could possibly drive through this side of the Mississippi. It is like 9 degrees up there. Brrrrrrr. I agree with that, but with the weather the way it is, it would probably be....shall we say...interesting tonight.
December 17, 200817 yr Why sis it get cancelled? Weather in Chicago? I didn't know ColonelCrazy was your sister...
December 17, 200817 yr I didn't know ColonelCrazy was your sister... Clearly there's alot you don't know about me, sticky.
December 17, 200817 yr We just dealt with flying in and out of Chicago. AWFUL. Good luck in your travels. Both times we had delayed and cancelled flights. That was just 2 days ago. Its very cold, icy and rainy there apparently.
December 17, 200817 yr Author Why did it get cancelled? Weather in Chicago? All flights from CVG to O'Hare were cancelled. Weather there is pretty bad, and it's not exactly great here.

December 17, 200817 yr All flights from CVG to O'Hare were cancelled. Weather there is pretty bad, and it's not exactly great here. We took off in a blizzard last March, they said getting up isn't the problem, it's landing in this garbage that is. That's why I figured it had to be the weather in Chicago.
December 17, 200817 yr Author It has been snowing there for a while and, although it is dying down some now, it will last until around 2 AM off & on. I think I should be fine tomorrow morning...

That's funny! We drove up to the Colts game and were talking about what a boring drive it was on the way home. Not Kansas but bad. It was the 1st time I've gone and not been stuck in road construction across from Louisville. Did you get any vouchers for your fight being cancelled? This past summer we flew through Chicago from Vail. The flight was full so we said we would get bumped to another flight for free tickets. They gave my wife, little girl + I free vouchers anywhere in the U.S. (not Hawaii or Alaska) round trip. I've had friends get even more than that. Just a tip.
December 17, 200817 yr What part of Chicago is your GF from? I assume you met her at UK - lots of Chicago kids down there. Make sure you go to Giordano's.
December 17, 200817 yr Author It took her 3.5 hours to get where it normally takes her about 45 minutes... And she went the SHORT way.
December 17, 200817 yr From my experience as a former employee of an airline, you won't get compensated for any act of mother nature. Most of the time you won't even get a refund for a cancelled flight. The airlines aren't nearly as generous in today's economy.
December 17, 200817 yr If John Candy offers to split the cab fare with you to the airport, I'd be a little wary.
December 17, 200817 yr If John Candy offers to split the cab fare with you to the airport, I'd be a little wary. That's pretty funny! Glad you jogged my memory. Might have to watch that one over Christmas break again. "You're going the wrong way.... how does he know where we're going?"
