We lost a great person in our community Thursday morning.

Chelsea Stinnet a senior captain on the Greenwave basketball and vollyball team passed in a tragic accident on her way to school Thursday. She was a great person who not only was a special athelete, but a person who was doing great thing in our community. She was a honorary teacher who helped the special kids at our school and voluntered at the local nursing home.

She was the only senior on the Greenwave basketball team.

Her mother works EMS in our county and was the first responder to the accident. When you go through this you realize that sports are not as important today as it was yesterday.

I ask that whomever reads this thread to stop and say a special prayer for Chelsea and to ask God to lift up her family and friends in the tragic time.

There is a special fund set up at the Meade County Bank (270 422 4141) if anyone would like to help the family. We are having a wake at the MCHS gym on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Not only the family but the community as a whole is having a hard time dealing with losing one of our own.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to this girls family, friends and her entire community.
