WOW Ashland scored 110???

I just got in from the Ashland/Boyd Co. game and all I can honestly say that I have no earthly idea what Boyd is trying to accomplish.

 

A proud tradition established by guys like Frank Lee, Adrian Black, Greg Fugate, and Antonio Owens has been turned into a circus act.

 

The guys you mention were great players. However, IMO players like Phil Pratt, Dave Wooten, and others established the Boyd County tradition long before those mentioned came into the picture.

Wooten needs to realize that BC doesn't.

Need to press the whole game... No wonder he's getting run all over... Slow it down and try the half court trap or something. If he doesn't realize it soon then it'll be a long season for the lions.

I was curious to know when the last time Ashland scored this many points in a game. In the Independent, they say the last time was 1993 when Ashland beat Jellico out of TN. 121-33. Well maybe next time Boyd can help them set the school record. :lol:

As a coach no matter what your preference in style, you have to look yourself in the mirror and realize that you have to play to your teams strength. For Boyd ripping up and down the floor and pressing doesn't seem to be the answer right now....I'd hope that Coach Wooten can look at this game as a lesson and can change a little. Sometimes your own worst enemy as a coach can be yourself. Coach Wooten may be able to play this style in time just not now.

No offense to Ashland but they just lost by 43 so obviously they are not that good and Boyd gets waxed by them. It's going to be a long year.

 

Ashland did not play well at Shelby Valley so I am not excusing their performance there at all but Shelby Valley beat Henry Clay last night 76-37 so I am guessing Shelby Valley is for real. I am also guessing Ashland could be a bit better than that Shelby Valley score may indicate.

Boyd County just need to come together as a team more, and until that happens this is what is going to happen. But when that happens the tides are going to turn, and I bet Ashland ain't going to want a piece of this Boyd county team come closer to the end of the season.

So what? Boyd has made 1 regional in the past 8 years or so and they won't as long as Wooten keeps playing this way. Owens had 0 help. If you saw him jump over that John Deere Gator to dunk at the Gus Macker then you would be singing a different tune.

I totally agree, Boyd needs to just keep there heads up and listen to there coaches!!! Its a new system than in the past, and it will take time to learn so just be patient. The talent and hustle is there, and when they come together as a team they will be GOOD!
