You can not play the type of ball at BC unless you have some talent, and play to your strengths. Messer sets the first game vs Russell, and scores a ton of points in the second game vs Ashland. Why??? I believe RyanParker said this in the Russell thread. Messer, regardless of his size should be in the BC lineup. BC has no one to rebound, no one to score and turnovers are horrible. I think they had 12 in the first half. Things have to get better.

Maybe the problem is they don't have anybody near the talent level of the guys you mentioned that established the tradition?

 

Then why try and play a style that creates more possesions?

 

No offense to Ashland but they just lost by 43 so obviously they are not that good and Boyd gets waxed by them. It's going to be a long year.

This style was pretty decent when Owens was scoring 40 PPG, but it won't work with what they have this season.

Is Messer the big guy who sat the bench the entire Russell game? If so, it was very surprising to me that he didn't come in. He appeared to be much taller and bigger than every Russell player. If he is in any kind of game shape at all, then he would have been a nightmare for Russell to defend.

Dont want to burst your bubble but those guys had nothing to do with establishing Boyd's tradition. They were good players that helped carry the torch of the tradition but try names like...Pratt, Toler, Wooten, Shumway, Mullins, Sisler, Wells, Taylor, Rakes, Stai, Goad, Spencer, Zornes just to name a few...

 

Wooten has inherited a mess from the bottom floor up not top floor down. It will take him 3 plus years to fix what has been going on in the grade school and middle schools.

 

Boyd Countains should support Wooten and give him some time. Until you have been in his shoes as a head coach you have no idea what he is going through.

I agree get the ball to Messer the big man was impressive. Ashland really had no match for him.

You are way off, totally different styles of basketball. I would take my list vs your list at all their primes and beat you by 20.
