I disagree with his response on several levels, but don't feel like spending the time any longer to convince either him or you. Ultimately he'll not convince me to change my mind and vice-versa, so there's not much point. Sanders was great and so was Brown. I just happen to think Brown was the better of the two.

I saw some college clips of him today. A DB met him at about the 6 or 7 and Earl threw a forearm into the guy's chest, lifted him off the ground, and with the forearm carried him into the end zone where he dumped him.

That's good stuff. He was a one of a kind. Bad, Bad man. I hated seeing him play against my boys. The guy seemed to never run out of bounds.

Not that young--lol. Actually I'd probably have to say this. Barry Sanders is the best pure runner EVER. Jim Brown might be the best power/speed combo. But Walter Peyton might have been the best football player of the bunch when you consider his speed, power, receiving, throwing and blocking.

Two people actually voted for Willie Parker??? He is maybe top 10 this year, and that is a big big stretch.

There's also this tidbit. During the 10 years that Sanders played with the Lions only 3 other members of his team made All-Pro on offense. WR Herman Moore 4 times, Tackle Lomas Brown 6 times and G/C Kevin Glover 3 times.

Meanwhile, Brown had 14 different offensive teammates chosen All-Pro a total of 31 times including 7 offensive lineman chosen a total of 18 times and he also played with 3 All-Pro quarterbacks (Sanders played with 0).

 

The fact is Sanders did more with less. :thumb:

I voted for Sanders today but tomorrow it would probably be Payton. IMO they should be 1A and 1B. However, my favorite player of all time is Earl campbell. He's not on the list but I also loved to watch Larry Czonka play!
