I found this on another site.

Interesting

Bowls are held where the weather is better, therefore Pac-10 and SEC teams are generally closer.

Yeah, until they bring back the Akron Bowl and create the MidWest Bowl, it's going to be this way for the Big 10.

Exactly. No big surprise.

Were these events closer to Big Ten country from 1993-2000 when the Big Ten dominated the Rose Bowl?

Miami travelling over 3,000 miles.

Are there any cold weather bowl games?

I know Boise has the Humanitarian Bowl. And isn't there a bowl in Seattle?

International Bowl in Toronto...but it's played indoors. I went up there 2 years ago when UC played in it and man was it cold.

Yeah, I meant outdoors. Detroit still has there game as well.

Ford Field has roof over it though right?

Is there some significance to this that I'm missing?

Other than NCF doesn't like the SEC?

I was hoping it was more than that. The ONLY way it would be significant is if each team was playing 6 or 7 days prior to the bowl game. However, since they will have 2 to 5 weeks to get there and adjust I don't see why this is brought up. So I ask: Is there something significant I'm missing?

You're not missing anything. It's just yet another attempt by NCF to try to justify why the SEC is so much better than the Big Ten.
