Kentucky is struggling this season, and a lot of the problem can be traced to shaky play at point guard. Freshman DeAndre Liggins was supposed to take over the position, but it has been well-documented that he and coach Billy Gillispie have not been on the same page.

Nonetheless, Liggins has picked up his play in recent games. Against Lamar, he had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. He sparked Kentucky's rally late in a loss to Miami, finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. And against Mississippi Valley State, he had 19 points and five assists. In fact, Liggins was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for his efforts.

But there are plenty of rumors circulating that Liggins is likely to transfer. If Michael Porter isn't the answer and Liggins leaves, what is the solution for Kentucky's woes at the point? The jury is out as to whether recruit GJ Vilarino, from McKinney (Texas) High, can successfully run the point in the SEC.

That is why Kentucky is among several schools making a push to land Florida transfer Jai Lucas, who had the Wildcats as one of his final schools before signing with the Gators in 2007. Baylor and Texas also are mentioned as being in the mix. Lucas will be eligible in December 2009, after the first semester

There are some validity to the rumors but I don't think he is going anywhere. Many freshman all flirt with transferring. No different here.

Just a little mental war between the two.

Remember, Acie Law and Deron Williams both said they hated BCG at times, but when it was all said and done, they loved him and they stay in constant contact.

There is ZERO validity to the rumor. Just Jerry Meyer trying to stir the pot a little bit. He decided himself that Liggins was thinking about tranferring after the KSU game. Completely falsified.

^ it's still getting some talk. Unless the radio hosts take false info and run with it, it was talked about on 1530 this morning

I just dont think he finishes his career a Cat

LABS is usually spot on with UK news. If he says the rumor has some validity, it most likely does.

Thanks for that...So am I

My time on here, it is easy to figure out who has contacts and who doesn't. If it has anything to do with UK basketball, I tend to believe LABS.

The same can be said for GT about college basketball in general.

In my opinion, I think right now it's fine if Billy G is kind of going back and forth between Porter and Liggins, but come March, I think for UK to get any thing done, they will need Liggins in there just because of his potential play making ability, he just needs to get some more experience under his belt.

My comment wasnt in reference to the transfer rumor. But it still stands.

It seems to me that Liggins plays out of control. He gets wild and careless with the ball .
