Good win for the Owls. Great way to start off the season.

Jackson County lost nearly everyone from last year's team and have a first year head coach. Give them some time and they will be okay. However, the early season will be rough for them.

I listened to the game and it sounded like they played really hard. It's always a great to win on the road, especially when you are playing out of region. Congrats Owls!!!! Way to start out the season.

Someone said Evans finished with around 30, if this is true it won't be long before they see some box and 1. Great job by the generals climbing back into the game after being down 17 at the half to force overtime.

Evans had 34 and taylor finished with 10. If i am not mistaken 4 out of Owsley's five starters finished in double figures.

What happened to the former head coach? What is the scoop on the new coach?

Owsley old coach is at Breathitt County. For all the people in Owsley County we are so glad. I think Owsley has found a coach that loves Owsley basketball and definitely is interested in building back the program like the old coach said he would do,but in the end ignored that promise.

I think former Generals Coach, Hayes, took a principal position at one of the Jackson County schools.

 

As for Owsley County, their coach from last year, Doug Noble, is now the head coach at Breathitt County. Charlie Davidson, who is a Breathitt County native, is the new head coach of the Owls. He has coached baseball and taught in the Owsley County system for several years.

Congrats Owls! 14th over the 13th region is good anytime.

Congratulations Owls---it is VERY hard to win in McKee--Really do not remember an Owl win in Jackson County in many, many years--

 

The kids ALL played as a TEAM and played very, very hard for Coach Davidson. Coach Davidson has great rapport with his team--and it shined last night.
