February 6, 200917 yr I agree. Fleming Co. was fortunate to defeat Shelby West. Fleming really had to tough it out against a bigger more athletic team. I don't remember them shooting the ball particularly well, but as I said they were long and athletic. At this point I am sure no one is overlooking anybody but Shelby could sneak up on somebody if they are not careful.

I know Mason can put together some good games, Fleming just handled them so easily in the two games they played this year that I was expecting Meece to come out on top. Looks like Fleming Co. will be playing Trigg Co. I know zero about them other than the school website for Trigg had them listed as undefeated for what I am assuming is their conference schedule. Shelby made 2 free throws with 1.3 seconds left on what i thought was a bad foul call.
February 7, 200917 yr Author Walton played well but were really untested. Clinton beat Conner by 10+ but didn't really play well, trailing 9-4 at the end of the first period. Meece lost in a controversial finish, Mason walked and the referee made the call but the other ref gave Mason a timeout. Mason then scored on the final possession at the buzzer. This game really suprised me, Mason would be really good if they had a quality point guard. Lincoln was untested. LTMS was untested. Johnson Central was untested. Today I think the two best teams are LTMS and Johnson Central. Haven't seen Moss or Crosby play yet.

February 7, 200917 yr Sounds like LTMS is the real deal. Johnson Central is very tall and athletic. You have to defend extremely well and limit them to 1 shot to have a chance to win. Lincoln looked solid. Mason/Meece game was a great game to watch.Mason won in OT,on a shot that went in at the buzzard.There were more than one controveral call during this game,that went both ways.The key to this game IMO.was when Mason went to the box and 1,on #23,and Meece had no answer for Mason's big kid.He seemed to score at will.From all the earlier post everyone had the Meece team playing Walton/Verona .I guess that won't happen today.But I guess that's why they play the games.I know one thing.If you like to watch basketball played with all the passion,heart and hustle,this is the place to be this wkend.Getting to watch these kids play is awesome.
February 7, 200917 yr Author I agree the Mason/Meece game was played with incredible passion and the big kid for Mason was not going to be denied at the end of the game. THe box and 1 was the key to the game. Mason has several good players but no true point guard yet. If they had a true point guard they would be as good as anyone. Big suprise for me this morning, Trigg County destroyed Fleming County (one of my favorite teams to watch). What bothered me most was that Fleming seemed to quit, you could have never convinced me that would happen. Trigg has an excellent team, I think they caught Fleming off guard. I just watched Crosby play and they are very, very good. Still waiting to see Moss. Mason/Walton should be a good game and then the winner gets Clinton (I hope), and that will be a very good game.
