I believe the Engineers have what it takes to beat the Bobcats, it should be a great game, can't really see it getting lopsided on either end, but I guess that's the way it's supposed to work in the regional finals.

Estill has not played very good teams in the playoffs. They are a good team and have earned to be here, but Breathitt wins a tough game 28-16

They've played a weak regular season schedule and a weak playoff schedule, they might as well not show up to play a good team like Breathitt at their place. Oh wait, that's right they nearly beat them last time. :laugh:

 

I'll agree that Breathitt played a tougher schedule, but at the same time to say Estill didn't play anyone in the playoffs doesn't seem right. They played a 5-5 Somerset team and then an 8-3 Taylor County team at their place while some others were sleepwalking through games with 0-10 and 1-9 teams in the first round. Just a thought.

Only thing I have to say is the 'neers' are ganna have a train wreck on Friday... no more cho cho its ganna be more like boo who. Breathitt by 2 touchdowns.

This will be a great one. EC wins 28-26.

I don't see the game being all that close. I think Breathitt will control the game but maybe give up a couple of big plays for TD's. I think they win by at least two touchdowns with a final of maybe 27 to 14. I don't think the previous meeting means a lot right now nor do I see the last two Breathitt games as being too important. The truth is several of Breathitt's players have been gimpy the last few weeks especially the QB. I think most evryone is healthy for this Friday. I know Estill will bring a ton of fans and it should be a great atmosphere for HS football!

Estill's had a fine season. But I think their weak non-district schedule gives Breathitt the advantage. Estill loaded up with teams like Pineville, Berea, Phelps, Knott, Bourbon, while Breathitt played JC, P'burg, and LCA. I know some of Estill's opponents had good seasons, but they weren't the calibur teams Breathitt played. Breathitt did the same thing last year, playing a weak schedule, and it cost them. Good luck to both teams. I don't think this one will be 7-6.

 

I think the argument would carry more weight if Estill hadn't outplayed Breathitt County in Jackson and lost a one point game due to a Bobcats defensive TD and a missed XP. If Breathitt does win, it won't be because Estill County's schedule was weaker.

 

Also, I'm not sure how Breathitt's weak schedule last season cost them...they won their first 13 games before losing on the road to a better team in the state semi-finals. A tougher schedule may have made Breathitt a little better, who knows...but it wouldn't have made them better than Belfry last year.

Estill Co. has a great team, but Mr. Fugate is the man. I look for him to run for 3 or 4 TD's in this game.

This has the potential to be a really entertaining game. I'll go with Breathitt County in a close one, 27-21, Fugate with 250 yards on 35 carries.
