Knox Central is a good football team. Period. Three weeks ago no Knox Central team had ever won more than 7 games and that was only once decades ago. This Friday they'll be going for win #10! Three weeks ago, KC had never won a playoff game. Now they have back to back wins by a total of 80-7! This Friday a program that just five years ago was everyone's homecoming guest will be playing for the Regional Championship! It doesn't matter who they're playing against. Why not be confident. These kids know they can play.

Three scores. A couple of breaks and it's a 4th quarter game. Plus, KC is better now and as I said, there's no pressure. Just go out and give it everything and let chips fall where they may.

Don't disagree with you in the distance that KC has come. Few distant years ago they could not line up now they are competitive. Much like UK has turned around but they are not ready to challenge the Big Boys in the SEC, just like KC is not yet ready to challenge Bell.

Maybe a false sense of confidence after their two blow out playoff wins. Those were very good for their program but Bell will be a totally different animal this week. Bell 38 Knox 6

OK so it is just a feeling of supporting your team then with nothing to back it up. I can understand that. I had the same feeling the other night when UK played at UNC. It quickly faded in the first 5 minutes of the game.

No, that's not it. I honestly feel that KC matched up physically with Bell in the first meeting. I felt Bell was more polished and more advanced. For example, KC was not ready for the fake punt. KC let some calls and other things get in their heads. A championship football team doesn't do that.

 

Since that game, KC's gotten better every week. They've struggled with a few teams and even lost one game while Bell has rolled over everyone without breaking a sweat. Each one of those games and especially the loss was a valuable learning tool. We'll see who has learned the most. Again, I feel good about it.

Bell had 2 defensive players not playing and 1 that was about 60%. On offense they were missing a starting HB with a broken hand and OT went down in the 3rd and missed the second half. Zachery was very inconsistent with his passing and has been sharp ever since. Just this past week he broke a passing record for a season for Bell. Improvement goes both ways.

 

As for the schedule who has KC played that has prepared them? SL? Holly Cross? Boyd? Rowan? Pulaski? Which one?
