Regardless of the outcome Friday night, this team will already go down as the best in Knox Central history. They'll be loose, hungry and confident. A thousand or so of my closest friends and I will pack the Hilton and make it feel like Panther Stadium South. The Bell staff is worried and have been priming any referees who read these threads for weeks. There are no thoughts of Boyle or Lex. Cath. in the Panther's minds, only Bell. All this other garbage aside, Friday night it will be just two teams across the line of scrimage from each other. May the best team win. Go Panthers.

The last game reminded me of some of the basketball games you see in the 13th region. The Refs take totally control of game with bad calls and some untimely ghost calls. That was clearly the worst officiating crew I have ever seen. Good thing about the playoff's is they will be from another region and will not put up with non-sense from the sideline and on the field.

 

A few no calls in that game really bothered me in particular. KC LB'ers both inside and outside clearly took on every lead blocker for Bell low, below the knees. Those plays should have been personal foul "defensive chopping" calls on KC everytime. Those are very dangerous plays and should be penalized. Those tactics have to be clearly taught by a coaching staff and I think they are the result of all the bad feelings by us Bell fans. I know they have really bothered my and others feelings towards the KC coaching staff. Maybe this time they will atleast shake hands.

 

If my math is right this is Bell's 6th trip to the Regional Championship in 8 years?

I will have to correct you a little. That crew is actually an excellent crew with tons of experience and excellent ratings, but not that night. They had a horrible night. I spoke with some of them and they admitted after the game that they let the game get out of control early and couldn't get it back. Many of the kids and the coaches should have been ejected that game but were not. Most all of them had done numerous Bell County games as well as Knox Central games in the past without there being an issue, but they were bad that night, no doubt. However, as bad as the officials were that night, the coaches and players did not help the matter one little bit. As far as not shaking hands, the officials told both coaches that they did not recommend that they shake hands after that game. The officials lost control of the situation, and the coaches didn't have any control of their players that night. It was just a bad night.

 

With that being said, this will be an emotional game. I would LOVE to be at this game. I think Bell wins, but this will be a classic contest. I just think Bell is a little too much this year.

 

I find it funny to hear about Mills being called a 'whiner'. Dudley did as much 'whining' and intimidating of the officials that night as Mills and then some. He was begging the officials not to toss anyone. IMHO, they shouldn't have listened to him. Had they tossed a few early, it probably wouldn't have gotten so bad out of hand. And I am saying this as someone who has loads of respect for Coach Hilton and everything he has accomplished in his long and successful career. He is one of the best.

Thank God that the kids will decide the game. I 'm thankful that it will not be decided by a bunch of has beens and never was. I put me in the group of hasbeens and the neverwas. So don't get mad at me for saying that.

 

Hopefully, the coaches will have better control of their players this friday as well.

I don't think that Boyd Co is very good Bell seems to have played tougher competition this season compared to Knox Central.

Not saying Boyd was a great team, but to say a 7-5 district winner who made it to the final 16 in their class is not very good seems a little off. :confused:

 

If Knox can hit those little pop passes and control the line of scrimmage they have a chance, but I think Bell's defense will just be too much.

:laugh::laugh:For what I know the Bell staff does not worry near as much about the opponents as they do themselves. They will be ready. Hope you do bring a good crowd. B/C this year at your place Bell had more fans than you all did.

I really don't understand how they could be that confident coming to Bell????? When was the last time a KC team of any age won on Log Mountain? Late 90's maybe?

 

Better question when was the last time these 2 teams played a game close? Knox has always struggled to put up points against Bell Friday night will be no different.

21-0 isnt exactly matching up well. We had over 250 yards rushing. Just wondering what game you attended?

I have to pull for Knox Central in this one, what a boost it would be to their entire school system to advance past Bell. I expect a good game, but Bell is just too good this year to go out now.

 

Hopefully the winner of this game will win 4A this year.

Forgot to feed them their pre-game meal of raw meat? Coaches didn't have them ready? Players already bored only three games into the season?

 

Anyone who was there saw it. KC took them out of their game and you could see the frustration. Coach Hilton wanted that extra score at the end of the game so bad he could taste it but couldn't get it past the KC secondary.

Three scores. A couple of breaks and it's a 4th quarter game. Plus, KC is better now and as I said, there's no pressure. Just go out and give it everything and let chips fall where they may.

3 scores is alot when that is almost as much as you have scored in the last 4 meetings together.

 

Exactly how did KC take Bell out of their game? Possibly hurt the passing game but 250+ plus yards rushing is a pretty good night.

 

Bell has improved too. See the 49-7 whipping they but on a Rock team that KC beat 21-19.

 

Still have not answered were is the confidence coming from? I am not trying to be smart or sarcastic just an honest question. Special teams, offense, defense or coaching why is their a confidence in Knox?
