Regardless of the quality of the officiating....they lost control of the game early on. Anytime that the officiating crew has to suggest (and it was them who did) that the two teams not shake hands at the end to avoid problems....they lost it a long time before IMO!

The outcome will be much different this time around. At the beggining of the season, the Bobcats, IMO was struggling to find a leader of the team, and was just struggling getting used to new positions and new faces. This time around, IMO, Matt Simpson is the clear leader of this bobcat team, always makes the big play and gives this running attack a huge boost. Bobcats are firing on all cylinders in all aspects of the game, looked extremely impressive when the ball was in the air last night. Could be a long, long night for KC.

The last game reminded me of some of the basketball games you see in the 13th region. The Refs take totally control of game with bad calls and some untimely ghost calls. That was clearly the worst officiating crew I have ever seen. Good thing about the playoff's is they will be from another region and will not put up with non-sense from the sideline and on the field.

 

A few no calls in that game really bothered me in particular. KC LB'ers both inside and outside clearly took on every lead blocker for Bell low, below the knees. Those plays should have been personal foul "defensive chopping" calls on KC everytime. Those are very dangerous plays and should be penalized. Those tactics have to be clearly taught by a coaching staff and I think they are the result of all the bad feelings by us Bell fans. I know they have really bothered my and others feelings towards the KC coaching staff. Maybe this time they will atleast shake hands.

 

If my math is right this is Bell's 6th trip to the Regional Championship in 8 years?

By your comments it would lead me to think that Bell really is worried about next weeks game. I wish both teams the best of luck. I will be intresting to see the turnout on this one.

From the coments I have seen the KSHAA just needs to send the mighty Bell the trophy and save the time. Maybe all games from here on out should just be played on paper.I know Knox is a big underdog and should probally be but give Mills credit 6 years ago K.C. WAS 0-10. Last I checked the score of this fridays game is still all tied up 0-0

The Bobcats are not worried. In fact, they look forward to hosting Knox Central on Log Mountain. There was a loud cheer from the crowd when the final score of the Knox-Boyd game was announced. Everyone there looks forward to the rematch. The first game was ugly....hopefully this game will be played with class by two good teams. I believe the Bobcats are a much better team. Anything can happen in bad weather, cold, and the playoffs. Bell let Rockcastle hang around last night too long...it was a wake-up call. I don't believe they will do that next Friday night. Should be a great crowd, cold...but not quite as cold as this week....and the best of Mountain football. As for coaching techniques.....I have never seen Coach Hilton coach that kind of strategy...there are legal ways to do the same thing....I don't think Wayne would either...sounds like an assistant.

Before you get your feathers ruffled (LOL!)....you should check previous posts. Bell fans have a great deal of respect for Coach Mills. They would never overlook his team. Bell has been on a one-game-at-a-time mission for the season. They have overlooked no one. Bell is favored in this game, and should be by their performance on the field this season. As for Mills, there are numerous posts on BGP that have had much praise by Bell fans for what Wayne has done. Several times they have come to his defense, when some have wanted to criticize them. Let's face it for whatever reason...refs, Bell or Knox players, fans....last time was ugly and let's have a great night on Log Mountain....hot baked potatoes.....hot chocolate, coffee, and good old "smash mouth" football....legal...on the field...and Mountain Football at its best! No, not an assistant. I just stated the facts. Sometimes the truth hurts. You are right about one thing. Bell does have a good team as does Knox Central. I am sure the crowed cheered for Knox Central when they heard the score of the game. Who wouldn't want two teams less than 15 miles apart to play this game. Don't diss on the monster that the king has created. I am sure their is enough room for two kingdoms to be set up in the mountains.

Sounds good to me. Count me in. We should be proud of our young men. Where can you find two teams this close to each other with this kind of talent? I wish both teams the best and may the players decide who wins the game. The lord knows both teams have put a great deal of time hard practices into their season. Thanks for the invitation. And it was not just my kid it was any lead blocker for Bell getting cut down with illegal and dangerous play. I hope the officals will not let it happen.

No Mills did not learn that from Dudley. I heard Mills with my own hears a few times discussing the dirty teams when he was at Bell. Knox was on the top of the list seems they are still there.
