Beechwood 54 Ludlow 0

Incorrect. The running clock starts with a 45 point differential in the second half.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but any criticism of Coach Rash for being "classless" is severely misplaced. And I am quite confident that Coach Hornsby agrees.

Congratulations to Ludlow for a very successful season.

Congrats and good luck to B-dub! And a special congrats to Josh Montooth on a fine, fine HS career! Way to go 'Goose!!

The running clock was in hand already, there was no reason for Beechwood's coach to do this besides embarassing Ludlow's kids and community. Coach Rash decided this season, as was evident in all of the games against Class A schools, that he was going to break the spirit of the spirits of these schools. He wants to prove that Beechwood is still the big dog and at no point, under no circumstances will anyone usurp them. There were a few Beechwood fans last night that even made comments about how tasteless this was.

Good luck to the Beechwood players, you play tough hard nosed football and are flat out great players. It is just unfortunate your coach has to act in such a manner, thinking he is bigger than what he really is. If we are all to worship Coach Rash and he is to emerge from the shadow of Coach Yeagle, he might want to consider another approach. If not, he will never live up to the other great Beechwood coaches, will never give these kids the coach they deserve, and never get a job like, oh I don't know, Moeller.

Yes the running clock does start in the second half, but does not have to be only because of 45 points. The clock will also run on mutual agreement between the coaches, and I'm pretty confident myself that Coach Hornsby was not going to push the issue over the 4 points.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

"Teipel crossed the 100 yard mark by the opening minute of the second quarter, scored his fourth touchdown by that quarter’s conclusion and was warming himself on the sideline for good by the half.

The rest of the Tigers’ starters joined him shortly thereafter. That included junior quarterback Matt Rigdon, who piled up 131 passing yards and 81 rushing yards before being pulled at the start of the third quarter."

The box score indicates that Beechwood scored 6 points in the second half.

Again, I am not in the business of defending coaches. But I sure don't see any evidence of a "classless" act.

Congrats to Ludlow on a good season

Congratulations to the Beechwood players.

I have always had respect for Beechwood Coaches until last night. Coach Rash showed a classless act that has erased all of my respect for him. Up 41-0 with 43 secs left Coach Rash burns all time outs left to score one more time before half and run up the score. CLASSLESS! The game was won. Just especially disappointed with the lack of class Coach Rash showed.

Stop crying, if the Beechwood staff wanted to run the score, (1) they would not have had the JV team play the second half and (2) put the freshman team on the field when the JV team was about to score. In the future if you think the game is over early sub in your underclassman, until you do, game on !!!! Remember the Beechwood staff called off the dogs by substituting first and resting starters early.

It reminds me of a Pee Wee Coach who has never heard the unspoken rules of the game. And for all the fans that are going to say well it’s about winning and playoffs, you are just being a cry baby. If you don't understand the point I am making, you are about on the same level as Rash and I don't really have respect for you either. Rash is under the delusion that he is above everyone else. Remember Beechwood wins games and State titles without head coaches showing up. Coach Rash is a classless act, and for the first time in my life, I hope a Northern Kentucky team will not win state in 1A.

Once again this is not directed at the players of Beechwood they played great. Just especially disappointed with the lack of class Coach Rash showed

You sir have no idea what class is as evidenced by your rant. 45 point lead in the second half mandates the running clock. That's the goal and nothing else! How many points did Beechwood score in the second half? I get your point and I don't care if you respect me or not your point is totally wrong. Rash is a class act. My son graduated last year and I can tell you no one except the coaches spent more time at practice than I did. I have heard head coaches tell their players that if someone cheap shots you, you cheap shot them harder. That attitude is never tolerated by coach Rash. He teaches his players to play hard but with honor and integrity. There is no honor in humiliating an inferior opponent. If you had watched Beechwood throughout the year this is nothing new. Get to the running clock and then call off the dogs. You may not like it but there is nothing CLASSLESS about it.

Congratulations to the Beechwood players.

The point has been made about getting to 45 points for the running clock. I also want to point out that this was an opportunity for Beechwood to get a chance to run a 2 minute offense and manage the clock against a real game opponent. That is something they have done very little this year and they likely may need if they want to win a championship. I will admit that those who did not think this through may have had the same reaction you did. However, if you are a football person, you should have thought of those things before taking a shot at the best football coach in northern Kentucky. As was posted above, the JV played the entire second half (versus Ludlow's starters) and the freshmen team even played in the fourth quarter. There was no running up the score in this game. There was a team winning a game and trying to prepare to win a state championship.

Those who know Coach Rash have the utmost respect for him on the field and off the field. The values he teaches his players have as much to do with Beechwood's success as his on field coaching ability. He is the definition of class in coaching and I wish everyone had the chance to have a son to play for a coach like him.

Ok I was not at the game. However from what I have heard, and I have yet to see any Beechwood person deny it on here. How Beechwood handled the last couple of minutes before half was classless.

I mean I have seen people say that were using it as practice for the 2 minute drill. However hmm how would that not be classless, because that is selfish and doing it for your own good, even though it be putting the other team down. I know people will try to say, they are just getting ready for their playoff run the rest of the way. Then hey why not just keep the 1st team in all game then, and treat it as a practice and work on things all game. I mean yeah people would say thats crazy to do that. So yeah don't say it was good practice for them, because they didn't feel like they needed to practice on anything else.

See I guess some of you all don't know what it means to show sportsmanship. Even though you would be using it for your benefit, you know it would be putting the other team down because they had the game won. So it really was just very classless. Also to address people say well Ludlow should have taken their 1st teamers out. Well you all do realize that it would have been the last game of the year for a lot of seniors. So why take them out? And its not like your JV team was going to get manhandled by Ludlows 1st string.

So honestly people there really is no good reason you could come up with to show that it wasn't classless. I mean Ludlow and Beechwood had bad scores before, and Beechwood before did it by just running dives up the middle as what was said. That was not the case in this situation. Just face it, what happened in this game was classless, and thats the end of the story. Hopefully they learn from this, and realize it was wrong and don't do it again.

In the 1st half, ANYTHING GOES! Beechwood SHOWED CLASS in the second half by resting their starters, then pulling their JV team as they were ready to score to put in their frosh. Beechwood could have won by over a 100 if they wanted to.

Yeah, Beechwood is classless.

Ha sorry, I forgot you all never do anything wrong up there!:rolleyes:

But now I am done, because I can see this taking me to a road where I am no longer on bgp if I continue with this discussion and I dont want that. So I am done now. Good day!

Congratulations to Beechwood, good luck next week.

Ok I was not at the game.

Exactly, let's just leave it there.
