Just another case of Dudley wanting to run it up............

OMG. Here we go again.

Bell County is that good, wow!

Just another case of Dudley wanting to run it up............

I remember years ago when Bell was ahead of Rock 42-0 at half and kick on side to start the 2nd half. There was also 5 seconds left in the half and Bell on the 5 tard line, so Dudley calls time out to stop the clock to score. Rock kicked an onside kick a few years ago after being ahead by about 2 Td's and Rock was criticizes for a year about that. Don't list Bell Co on the Greatest Sportsmanship Team in Ky

Obviously I was not there to see any of what was going on but why would you onside kick the ball two or three times in the second half after have already scored when it seemed obviously that the game was in hand?

Like I said I was not there and am just asking this question as someone who had read the update thread here on BGP.

I have to agree with this.

I remember that and it was 25 years ago. Funny how does things stay with someone. Some people never change.

Rock really played Bell very hard and I have always had a great deal of respect for their program but tonight I overheard something on the chain crew that really disturbed me. One of the Rockcastle coaches directed one his players to take Bell's kicker, Monte merrick out on a extra point. I couldn't believe my ears, but yes he told his player to try to hurt him. That just isn't right, I don't care how you try to justify it. Very disapointing in a coach to intentionally try to hurt our kicker, or any player just because you are getting beat. I don't think coach Larkey would have put up with that and I don't think the Rockastle administration should either. I know what Coach Hilton would do! He would fire their tale. Congratulation to Rock on a good season but the coach that instructed a kid to hurt Monte should be fired!

Are you sure it was a coach or could it have been one of the "fans" that stand over with them that are not supposed to due to not being apart of the coaching staff? According to one of the Rocket players it was not a coach and the person who said it is not really accountable for his statement due to he is not "right". I have always cheered for the team of choice but would never want for a player to be injured on either team.

Why would a player listen to someone that is "not right" as you say?

I agree about not wanting to see injuries. I love hard nosed football but hate injuries to young men wearing any color.:thumb:

I did not mean that they listened to him but he was the one that said it. The player may have done it on his own or whatever but either way it is wrong. If a coach did say it, I would really like to know which one as the player that told me wqs a starter and he said none of the coaches would tell them that and that the "fan" said it.

When the 1st onside kick happened the score was 21-7 with the game definitly still in doubt. When the other one happened it was 28-7, which is closer than the score was that LSU came back from a couple weeks ago. If Rockastle wasn't going to make the adjustment why not do it. Its not like Bell kept the starters in the whole game or anything like that.

You are right, in fact it is not anyones fault other than Rock's. It is their job to keep to keep Bell from scoring, and it is Bell's job to score and if an onside kick works, well friends and neighbors I would do it till it did not work regardless of the score.

As far as sportsmanship, I never thought Coach Hilton was anything but a sportsman. Seriously, show me a good loser and I will show you a loser. He does not want to lose and does everything to keep from it.
