This has been a great year for the Mustangs. From humble 0-10 beginnings on a middle school football field to a 9-1 record on a beautiful new football complex; the Mustangs are starting to believe! There is still a chip on their shoulder and that is what they will need to play that tough Etown team. We have a stingy defense and a very talented offensive and more importantly I don't feel the team has given their "all out" yet this year and this may be the night that it happens. For both teams, my heart goes out to the seniors, no one wants to hang up their cleats and no one wants this season to end. I pray for no injuries on both teams and may the best team win!!!

 

I've followed the 'Stangs since Day 1...and it's been fun to watch the growth!

 

2003 - first season 3-8 made playoffs, lost 21-7 to Russell

2004 - 3-7 missed playoffs

2005 - 1-9 missed playoffs

2006 - 0-10 missed playoffs (Billy Martin's first year)

2007 - 8-4 first winning season, won first playoff game (over Spencer Co.)

2008 - 10-1 so far, first district championship, ranked 3A top 10

 

A win tomorrow night would be another first for North as they try for their first ever appearance in the regional final.

Good point...for the players / parents of THIS YEAR's teams, your statement is very true.

 

But I think what Footballisking is trying to say is that it will mean a lot to the North Oldham PROGRAM...and you can't say that about many of the schools in the playoffs tonight...Danville, Christian County, Trinity, St. X, Highlands, Boyle County, Belfry, Elizabethtown, Male, Covington Catholic, Owensboro, Boone County, Ashland, etc. - all have long established, storied programs. A win tonight will hardly be a benchmark for those schools, who've "been there, done that".

 

North is shooting for their first ever berth in the regional championship game.
