I am not sure Henry Clay has many fans. Little or no support as far as attendance to the games. I am sure not many follow high school football closely. The Blue Devils are now 6-4 and on a six game winning streak, but their followers don't seem to care. I guess this is a down year for the Blue Devils, but they have a legit shot at making it all the way to the state finals.

 

Have to admit I was stunned at how few fans they had at the Ryle game last week. Granted the weather was not the best, but I'll bet they had no more than 75 fans in their stands. Ryle probably had over twice that. And what's even sadder is that they have an absolutely beautiful facility. You'd think they be drawing good crowds to their games.

Boone won't let this one slip away

When Ryle scored last week against HC, they lined up in their power eye and drove 61 yards for a TD right before the half. I would expect Boone to just keep pounding the ball against HC. Also, HC scoring drives against Ryle started at the Ryle 15, Ryle 28, Ryle 33, and Ryle 11. Ryle’s defensive did play a great game but field position and turnovers just killed them. If Boone can make HC put long drive together for scores, not sure HC will be able to do it. Field position will be very important in this game and if the situation arrives where Boone has a 4th and 1 on say the HC 38 yard line, they should punt and keep HC backed up. I would say which ever team manages field position and does not turn the ball over will win. But I guess you could say that about most game.

This is what Boone tried in the first meeting and didnt prevail! HC beat them honestly in every aspect of that game! and it was still close

6. Beating a team twice in three weeks on their home field

 

One of the major reasons that the regular season is important is the home field advantage. I see a whole different ballgame at Henry Clay.

A good portion of Ryle's "drive" came via penalties on Henry Clay. I don't think Ryle had over 70 yards total rushing for the game and got no impression whatsoever they were successful running the ball against the much bigger HC defensive line. I very much agree, however, that HC's offense was not overly impressive and greatly benefitted from being constantly handed the ball deep inside Ryle territory. I am sure Boone's offense will accomplish far more than did Ryle's, but just doubt that they can do it solely trying to pound the ball.

I beleive Boone's running game is much better than Ryle's. I don't see Boone having the same issues
