WHAT TO WATCH: If this game resembles the two teams' regular-season meeting, it will be a defensive struggle. The Boone County defense, which allows just 165 yards of total offense a game, is led by linebacker Zac Eagler, defensive lineman Andy Rich and defensive back Cory Spalding. Spalding has five interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

 

WHAT'S NEXT: The winner will advance to play either Simon Kenton or Conner in the regional finals.

 

BOTTOM LINE: Henry Clay beat Boone County 14-7 during the regular season. But the Rebels played most of the second half of that game without junior running back Charles Quainoo, the state's leading rusher, who left with an ankle injury. Even with Quainoo back and healthy, this game is still a toss-up.

I beleive Boone's running game is much better than Ryle's. I don't see Boone having the same issues

Health wise, Quainoo was not 100%. He had 25 carries, but he did not hit the holes with the same aggressiveness. He and Simpson are the best "runners" in the area. Ryle will pound and ground where Quainoo has a better eye for hitting a hole and making a 5 yard run into a 15 yard gain.
