All the earlier talk of the Desales run game got me thinking. It seems to me(from a source) that Hc despite the much tougher schedule has actually out rushed Desales overall.

2400 or a little over for Desales to around 2700 for Hc. I am just failing to see where the stats are in favor of Desales? I believe the passing yardage favors HC to the tune of 590(d) to 700(h).

I like what Holy Cross did with their schedule, I know absolutely nothing about DeSales, but their schedule appears to much inferior to that of the Indians. HC only won three regular season games, but they played some very good teams in NCC, Ryle, Beechwood, Simon Kenton and Knox Central. HC may lose, but they should be prepared.

 

I'm not a DeSales fan, but I think you're underestimating the teams the Colts played. Not saying they had a stronger schedule mind you, but they hardly played patsies. Their two losses were to a ranked 5A team (Doss) and to a powerful Providence, IN squad. They beat a couple of solid 4A teams - Fairdale and Bullitt East, and one of the better 1A teams (Louisville) Holy Cross.

 

Mark Sander is one of the most unsung coaches in the state.

A friend of mine has a son playing for DeSales. He says they are peaking at the right time and playing more physical every week. I'll take his word for it and go with the Colts.

Well I also have a friend. He said his friend of a friend heard Holy Cross Passing offense is just awesome to say the least. Doesn't mean it's right. I see HC taking this one 21-17.

I'm not underestimating the schedule, I just think HC played a very strong non district schedule. Add NCC to the list and they possibly may have two state finalists on their schedule.

HC without a doubt played the tougher schedule of the two. They are finally getting healthy but it will be a tall order to defeat Desales and they'll need to play mistake free football. If they can keep from making the mental and physical mistakes I really like them in a close game. Being they are from nky I'm going with HC to the tune of:

Desales 24

 

With HC scoring late in the game to take the lead and get the W.

I agree! Going to be a flat out great, hard hitting game.

They beat Newport 24-12, which seems to be their only common opponent. Mark Sander has done a good job at Desales. Sander still holds the career tackles record while a linebacker at the University of Louisville. I wish both schools the best, but have to pull for Desales.
